Mark Billingham talking about his change of career from comedian to writer of crime fiction.
The Author Archive Podcast
This conversation was recorded when Mark's first Thom Thorne novel, Sleepy Head, was published. It's interesting to note that the UK health service comes under scrutiny in the story and Mark concludes that the problem even then was funding. Some things don't change. When asked about his own literary enthusiasms Mark comes up with cheers for Ian Rankin and Val McDermid and a whole group of American writers.

Season 4: Episode 7 – Hear from Mark Billingham, Group Customer Operations & CX Director for The Very Group:
Customer Perspective: An Ipsos Podcast
Welcome to our final episode of Season 4, and 2021. Never fear, we’ll be back with Season 5 next year, in January (another great episode already lined-up). In this episode, we’re joined by Mark Billingham, Group Customer Operations & CX Director for The Very Group, with The Very Group being the UK's largest integrated retail and financial services provider – it’s the home of Very.co.uk and Littlewoods.com. We’re also delighted to be joined by Ipsos MORI’s head of XM, Jamie Thorpe. Mark takes time away from his very busy schedule (it’s Christmas time in retail …) to discuss some of our very favourite Customer Perspective topics, including the importance of getting CX ‘right’ and why, successfully delivering that all important omnichannel experience, where CX is going, and the challenges that lie ahead. The last time I saw Mark was at the ECCCSA | European Contact Centre & Customer Service Awards, where I presented his customer care team with the gold award for the best customer service team in Europe – and, in fact, his team scooped three awards … an amazing achievement (and an amazing night)! Congratulations, again, Mark – and thanks for the interview. Find out more about our latest Ipsos CX and Channel Performance thinking.

The SOS bar is open and it would be criminal of you not to crack-open an Iron Bru and join Lou and Sally-Anne with this week's guest, crime writer, musician, comedian, AND actor, Mark Billingham. Yes although the guest chose a PG drink for this week, the ladies couldn't resist making it an 18 with dashes of vodka, Aperol, and in one case ...Bailys - which worked out about the way you think it would. We also hear about the time Mark pilfered a legendary rock group's rider backstage at Glastonbury. Lou and Sally-Anne will be LIVE at The London Podcast Festival 2021 - catch them on September 10th at 9:30pm - for all info and tickets, go to: www.kingsplace.co.uk/whats-on/london-podcast-festival Hosted on Acast.
