OPEN UP with Amira

Today’s guest is Phillip Morris. At the age of 27 he found himself, a young black man, divorced from the person he planned to spend the rest of his life with. In this episode, Phillip shares so openly how he’d grown up being the Head Boy at school, being the friend everyone expected to get married first and how he had to unpack a life of expectations to find out what he actually wanted. In this beautifully honest and vulnerable episode, he also brings a sense of lightness and reflection and shares how these experiences have shaped his relationship now.Phillip is a Theatre Director and has directed productions at theatres across the country including, the Royal Court Theatre, Young Vic, Soho Theatre and his latest production in German Theatre Redisenze Theatre. Some of his recent productions include ‘Sessions’ at the Soho Theatre’ about a young black man who wants to go to therapy before he’s 30 and ‘Bitches’ about 2 female Vloggers, who through the process discover the difference in their privilege. Phillip is also the Artistic Director of Trybe House which is a theatre company working closely with young black men in order to create a space for them to be able to express themselves. It’s a privilege to end season 1 with Phillip’s episode and I hope this speaks to your soul in the same way it did to mine. #66 - The Taliban VS. Philip Morris

Past The Rabbit Hole

With the Taliban back in power it looks like we might be able to say goodbye to America's good friend Fentanyl, and welcome back our old familiar friend heroin into our lives. At least it's an old adversary that we know & love, unlike Mr. Fent that's running amok and killing even the coke lovers! Speaking of killing! Let's give a round of applause to the FDA for getting rid of those GOD AWFUL vapes that's been killing off everybody while letting Juul still be sold(since you know they're owned by the Marlboro people)!
