Time to take a virtual trip back to 2009. We were still youthful college students who hadn’t been swept up into Bachelor Nation’s inescapable pull though we did have the same ill-advised layers and flat-ironed side bangs as some of the contestants – and a handsome single dad was learning just how fickle reality TV fame can be.

That’s right, we’re revisiting Jason Mesnick’s season! The first, and to our knowledge only, Jewish Bachelor, he was also the first but far from only Bachelor to dump his winner and then pursue his runner-up for the cameras. A groundbreaker. And on this episode we’re joined by the man himself, Jason Mesnick, for our spotlight interview.

TTBP is baaack, and we mean way back. We went into the archives to review one of the most iconic seasons in Bachelor history - Jason Mesnick. It's funny how we remember things a certain way and then realize how wrong you were when you revisit it a decade later. Lucky for us, we were able to issues formal apologies to the people who deserved it. This season may have been the most dramatic of its time, but it's simplicity is something we have missed. No fence jump, no windmill, just good ole fashion hooking up in a tent. So enjoy this trip down memory lane, we'll see you next month to talk about nation treasure, Kaitlyn Bristowe.

What was it like to be the Bachelor? What's it like behind the scenes? What was his biggest take away from the experience?

Today, Jason finds himself in a post-celebrity life selling real estate on the Eastside. What has that transition been like for him and Molly?

We go deep on one of the longest RSP shows ever. We hope you enjoy this as much as Tyler and Jason did.

Do Something Different with Jason Mesnick

Play
Read more

After a difficult divorce, Jason Mesnick wanted to rediscover himself, rekindle his sense of adventure, and try something new. That was his mantra. And it sparked an unexpected journey that pushed him into the leading role in the 13th season of The Bachelor.

Though he presents himself as a “normal guy” he clearly has lived an extraordinary reality tv experience that so few of us have (and of course we talk about this in depth, how unusual it really was) — but also how in many ways it’s a journey that parallels ours...building a living and a life around the things we love. Jason is a sage when it comes to coaching us to our follow inner instincts, focus on what matters, and take chances to expand our lives in unexpected ways. I’m pretty sure this interview is a side of a reality TV star that few people have ever experienced.

In this episode we also:

  • Dig into the very unique world that is The Bachelor TV show. As someone who admittedly doesn’t watch the show (but I’m married to someone who does!) it was a fascinating and at some times head scratching experience receiving very honest account from someone at the epicenter of prime time reality TV.
  • Explore Jason’s mindset for vulnerability and overcoming fear and rejection.
  • Of course we get some inner scoop on his fantastic relationship with his wife, Molly Mesnick and their entire family
  • Hear from Jason what his key takeaways were from the experience, and how he’s parlayed his experience into big success as an entrepreneur in real estate.

Enjoy!
