Anita Siek | Grow Your Business - Wordfetti Style

Today we’re talking business growth - Wordfetti style. Wordfetti is a company that I’ve watched grow and a company that I’ve worked with. So I’ve seen first hand how Anita Siek has built this company and I can assure you it’s taken more than just a knack with words. Anita Siek has grown her business from nothing to something and today she shares the 3 most important things that she has done to make business growth look easy - at least from the outside.

Today we are talking about mentors - notice I’m saying mentors, plural. Why Anita believes in having more than just one mentor at any one time.

We are also talking about treating ourselves as our own client. It wasn’t until Anita began thinking of Wordfetti as a client, her own client that business growth became a reality.

And finally, the third thing, clearly something that Anita feels passionately about and something that has elevated the business growth of Wordfetti - her North Star.

It’s a great chat, with a great human.

From 0 clients to scaling as a copywriter with Anita Siek

Joining us on the podcast today is one of the most engaging and joyful women I’ve met in business so far. Her name is Anita Siek.

Anita is the founder of the content, communications and copywriting studio Wordfetti, host of the popular podcast Brandfetti and woman behind the bright and fun Instagram feed @anitasiek.

Anita followed an extremely nontraditional path to copy-writing. She was a Lawyer (with a degree in Social and Organisational Psychology) who fell in love with words and how the choices of them trigger different emotions and ideas in a reader.

What began as a side-gig while juggling her Corporate role has today, turned into her full-time gig.

FUN NEWS: Anita and I are going LIVE on Instagram this Wednesday 19th August at 12pm AEST. So make sure you are following both of us @anitasiek and @emilyosmond, to join the Live and ask us your business (or personal!) questions.

MASTERCLASS: How to create compelling content that moves people with copywriting expert and mentor, Anita Siek.

Hey guys! Welcome to #GrowGetters – the future skills podcast for smart women in business. Whether you’re crushing it in your career, your super side-hustle, or your lady startup – we have got you covered!
Today we have a very special guest joining us on the poddy. Anita Siek is the Founder and Director of Wordfetti, a human-centered brand strategy copywriting studio in Australia which is dedicated to helping brands stand out through strategic thinking, consumer psychology, and their absolutely brilliant wordsmithery. She’s also the host of Brandfetti (a wildly successful podcast that is consistently in the top ranks for marketing on the Apple Podcast charts).
From our perspective, Anita is one of the best in the business. She followed an extremely nontraditional path to copy-writing. She wasn't a journalist, nor did she have 20 years experience in PR, or Marketing under her belt. She actually was a lawyer when her love of words and the power to understand how, what, and why they need to be nurtured grew.
Anita is a true entrepreneur that side hustled Wordfetti and Brandfetti whilst working in her role as a corporate lawyer. 3-4 years on, Wordfetti now has a waiting list of customers, an online shop, and a super successful online course that’s going gangbusters.
Last year she was named one of the top 50 Instapreneurial Female Creators by Milkshake (a service from Envato) and Frankie Magazine.
Anita has so so much goodness to share and we are so thankful to have her on the podcast this week. She will help us to further understand the importance of language when it comes to communicating value and creating connections for your business or brand.
So without further adieu, lets dive into this week’s episode.

Copywriting can make or break your business with Anita Siek from Wordfetti

Sometimes you need help expressing who you are and what you do, and that’s why I am so excited to have this week’s guest on the Your Creative Start Podcast this week. Her name is Anita Siek and she is the founder of Wordfetti, a copywriting haus  who don’t do normal write. Yes, if that last bit didn’t sound exactly right, then head over to Anita’s witty website and you’ll see why.

An ex-corporate ex-lawyer turned professional copywriting wordsmith, Anita just has this clever yet super relatable way of grabbing your attention that’s warm, honest and sometimes quirky, and that’s why she’s in top demand from her clients, and has a waitlist for those wanting to work with her and her creative team. What stands out most for me is that Anita is passionate about the phycology of writing, and how it shapes our behaviours. I have always loved how writing creates an emotional reaction in people, so I am excited to dive into this episode and divulge all of the wisdom bombs, actionable advice and practical tips Anita shares about copywriting and how it can make, or break, your business.

But don’t worry, with Anita around, she’ll make sure copywriting only makes your business better for you, and your clients and customers. On this week’s episode, Anita and I chat about nontraditional career paths, exploring what you love through side gigs, the importance of good copywriting for business when you are trying to sell something, understanding the importance of language, creative copywriting and strategic copywriting, where you may need copywriting assistance (and it may not be where you expect), brand voice, cutting through a sea of similarities, brand bibles, budgeting for a copywriter, investing up your own copywriting skills, tips for crafting great copywriting, writers block and lots more.
