REPLAY: Lara Casey

Thriving Beyond Belief with Cheryl Scruggs

In 2009, Lara Casey—PowerSheets® creator, best-selling author, and mom to three—wrote a blog post ("How to Make Things Happen") in an attempt to answer the many emails she received asking, "how do you do it all?" The blog post received a flurry of responses, resonating with hundreds of people. It sparked a movement that turned into the Making Things Happen Conference a decade ago, where she continues to lead attendees through our proven process to uncover what truly matters to them and do something about it. Those same principles are in every page of the PowerSheets® Intentional Goal Planner, our cornerstone product that has sparked powerful and positive change in thousands of women's lives across the world. Recognize her from somewhere else? For 10 years we published the acclaimed print magazine Southern Weddings, encouraging brides to plan meaningful celebrations and even more beautiful marriages. We were honored to partner with the best vendors in the business, including Southern Living Magazine, and to publish a beloved wedding planner you can still buy today. Though SW retired in 2018 so our team could focus on helping women cultivate what matters in every season of life, SW's legacy lives on!

Lara Casey – Take a Risk for What Really Matters

Good Money with Derrick Kinney

Do you feel stuck and anxious for something more? A decade ago, Lara Casey found herself with a growing business, but a crumbling marriage. By shifting her focus to what mattered most, Lara’s marriage was restored and she launched a new venture helping women set goals and live intentional lives. If you struggle to accomplish what you want, Lara shares why small steps lead to big results. What you will learn: The impact of not knowing what is important What is a truly good goal Why your action steps should be very small Failure is fertilizer How intentional goal setting advances your life Why you should know the circumstances of your season How to get back on track Quotes: “How do you have a heart and ambition for something and then really do something about it?” – Lara Casey “For me, I know now that my work is not my worth and that I want to be doing things in the direction of living for a greater purpose than myself.” – Lara Casey “I think that’s the beauty of what I call ‘cultivated goals’ is when they’re focused on the big picture, how you live them out can be flexible.” – Lara Casey “You have to take a risk for the things that really matter or else you’re going to feel stuck.” – Lara Casey “Sometimes you just take one step and suddenly, now you have momentum.” – Derrick Kinney “Where am I going to be so grateful that I spent my time in the big picture? Am I going to be so grateful that I took risks for the thing that matters? Or am I going to be really grateful that I stood in my disappointment for a little too long and got complacent and complained a lot?” – Lara Casey “I think about so many people have false expectations. They think that to be successful, nothing ever goes wrong, but the reality is success is expecting failure and then knowing how you’re going to property respond to it.” – Derrick Kinney “The thing is, everybody ends up somewhere, but few people end up somewhere on purpose.” – Lara Casey “You don’t have to force motivation when you’re doing something that really matters to you in the big picture.” – Lara Casey “Life is never going to be perfect, but it sure will be meaningful when you have your eyes set on the right things.” – Lara Casey Follow Good Money Good Hands Good Work on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/goodmoneyframework Free Valuable Report for our Listeners: https://goodmoneyframework.com Recommended Resources: Cultivatewhatmatters.com Laracasey.com

044: Letting God Heal Your Marriage with Lara Casey

The Living Room with Joanna Weaver

"No marriage is easy or perfect, but every marriage is worth fighting for!”In this episode, Lara Casey, the CEO of Cultivate What Happens, shares her personal marriage journey. Lara and her Jewish, military husband struggled for many years before God not only answered her prayer for a shared faith, but overtime He also healed the pain from all the earlier hurt and rekindled their love for each other. When it seemed easier to give up, Lara relied on her faith and pressed in deeper to God. He used Lara as well as a matrix of relationships and the power of His Word to lead her husband into a relationship with Him.I also share the story of God's healing in my marriage. If you are struggling in your marriage or are married to an unbeliever, God wants to encourage you today! It was when Lara and I came to the end of ourselves that God was able to create a beautiful masterpiece out of all of the broken pieces. He can do that for you too!{ USE PLAYER BAR @ TOP OF PAGE to listen to show, subscribe and share }Important Takeaways from Show There is no such thing as an easy or perfect marriage Every time an argument arises choose to pray first When we recognize how much God has forgiven us, we can easier forgive our spouse Don't allow someone else's lack of faith to hold you back from practicing your faith Any exposure to Scripture is powerful (Isaiah 55:11) You don't have to lure others to faith or pretend your life is perfect, but rather live out your real faith in front of them "What if God's primary intent for your marriage isn't to make you happy . . . but holy?" ~ Gary Thomas Sacred Marriage The time between your hurt and your miracle is an opportunity to practice faith Seek God rather than a perfect marriage and trust Him with the outcome Our purity and reverence for God and our respect and love for our spouse can draw our spouse to God (1 Peter 3:1) Rather than resent an unbelieving spouse, ask God to change your heart so you can present the sweetness of Christ Humility is one of the strongest displays of Christ to others You cannot change your spouse's heart, only God can Spend time with Christ and allow His aroma to spread to your spouse Trials are what ground your faith and strengthen your words A "gentle and quiet spirit" is one that is free from fear (1 Peter 3:4) Renew your commitment to your marriage (no matter what!) Get a big-picture mindset and commit to a long-term marriage Don't lose sight of the temporary nature of struggles and the powerful hand of God to change things in His timing Submit your heart to God and ask Him to give you a new love for your spouse Anchor your relationship by praying together oftenWives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. ~ 1 Peter 3:1Links from ShowPrevious Episode: 006: Cultivate What Matters with Lara Casey | The Living RoomBook: Cultivate: A Grace-Filled Guide to Growing an Intentional Life Book: Make it Happen: Surrender Your Fear.
