Andy Weir: Project Hail Mary

Coffee in Space

*Programming note: Because I interview authors year round, I felt it was simpler to count episodes in a singular method vice by season. So Andy Weir is episode 50, vice Season 2, Episode 17. I am so blessed to get to have a podcast that is still running strong at 50 episodes. You all have made that possible. So my thanks is to you. And the perfect guest to help celebrate this milestone is Andy Weir! Andy is the celebrated author of The Martian, which was turned into a movie starring Matt Damon.  His newest novel, Project Hail Mary, is a thrill ride of interstellar proportions and I'm convinced you'll love it.  To learn more about Andy's writing, check out his WEBSITE. You can also follow him on Twitter and Facebook.Like the podcast episode? You can "Buy me a Coffee" as a thank you! I'll even give you a free short story to show my gratitude. Thank you!* Links in these show notes may be affiliate links. I may make a small percentage from your purchase. I would always want you to buy from a local, independent store, but if you are looking to use Amazon, I would appreciate you considering my links. Thank you!

Episode 64 – Randomize by Andy Weir (The Forward Collection)

Mangum Reads

We’re getting back to basics with our foray into the Forward Collection. This collection was brought about by Blake Crouch, where a number of authors would asked to submit stories about a new and upcoming technology that would change the near future in some way. Some “listened” better than others. The next of our curated listenings was Randomize by Andy Weir, quite a bit further into the “hard” science fiction. The background was a heist story, which might have worked without the dry lesson in quantum computing. On the plus side the narrator was good. Next up: You Have Arrived at Your Destination by Amor Towles (of Moscow fame)
