Jordan Syatt and Mike Vacanti on Beating Food Fear, Guilt, and Anxiety

Muscle for Life with Mike Matthews

Many people get started on their nutrition journeys being told they need to eliminate certain foods, or even entire food groups. In turn, this can cause guilt when you do stray from “the one true diet” and you can end up creating an unhealthy relationship with food, or worse, full-blown disordered eating.  If you’re familiar with my work, you know that you can lose weight and achieve your goals without completely eliminating foods. The key is moderation and doing most things right most of the time. That’s how you make sustainable progress long-term without crashing and burning or bingeing.  And so, part of the solution to helping more people get healthier is education. That’s why I write my books and that’s why Jordan Syatt and Mike Vacanti wrote their new book, Eat It!: The Most Sustainable Diet and Workout Ever Made: Burn Fat, Get Strong, and Enjoy Your Favorite Foods Guilt Free. In it, they break down nutrition myths and diet fads, how to eat sustainably (both with and without tracking macros), and even provide simple strength training programs for both men and women just getting started on their fitness journeys.  In case you’re not familiar with Jordan Syatt and Mike Vacanti, they’ve both been on the podcast before. They’re Gary Vaynerchuk's personal trainers and have their own online coaching businesses (Syatt Fitness and On the Regimen, respectively) where they’ve helped thousands of people build better bodies and get healthier. They also host their own How to Become a Personal Trainer podcast.  In the interview, Jordan, Mike, and I discuss . . .  The trials and tribulations of writing Eat It! and the origin of the title  The different styles of dieting taught in the book  The concept of “shame” and whether it’s productive towards getting healthy  Practical tips to feel less hungry  And more . . .  So if you want to learn about how to eliminate the feeling of guilt in your diet and lose weight and get stronger sustainably, you’re going to enjoy this episode!  Timestamps:  0:00 - Save up to 25% during my July 4th sale! https://buylegion.com/ 5:48 - When is your new book out? 5:57 - What was the process of writing your book like?  13:01 - What is the title of your book?  16:17 - What are your thoughts on feeling guilty for yourself when having an unhealthy lifestyle?  24:28 - What type of dieting are you teaching in your book?  26:49 - If someone isn’t used to tracking food, what do you think is the best method for them?  32:54 -What is your approach when it comes to calories vs macros and does it matter if the person’s goal is muscle gain or fat loss?  38:19 - What are some tips that work for being less hungry when cutting?  1:00:22 - What kind of training do you focus on in your book?  1:07:13 - Where can people pre order your book?  Mentioned on the Show: Go to buylegion.com and save up to 25% during my big July 4th sale! Mike Vacanti - The rambunctious kid

Having run into Mike Vacanti more than once at Our Friendship Bench (I promise, only one more link!), I did one of those two kinds of people things we all can fall into. In this case, it’s ‘people I could be trapped in a lifeboat with’ and ‘people I would throw myself overboard if I were trapped in a lifeboat with.’ Mike is in category a.We run amok together as we explore boyhood, school (we both knew our high school principals very well indeed), the value of commitment over command in the workplace, the beauty of possibility, the scars we all carry and that sometimes itch, ‘deep matters of the heart and soul,’ and love. OMG, not Love! Much alike, I was, like Mike, known as the rambunctious kid.BTW, Mike is a featured contributor for Humanity@Work.

Mike Vacanti and I Talk About Quitting Your Job To Follow Your True Passion

Let's Just Talk

This past week I was booked in for my first Jab of pfizer and wasn't sure how I would pull up and so have decided to bring another one of my all time favourite guests and podcasts out of the vault to share with you.I was living in Bordeaux, France at the time and this was the last podcast I ever recorded for the original show I started called "How The Focaccia"?On this episode I had the absolute pleasure to talk to Mike Vacanti a fitness professional, entrepreneur, former trainer to Gary Vaynerchuk and a guy who instead of saying he will quit his job one day and follow his passion, actually did it.I will be the first to admit this Podcast held a special significance to me, as it was watching one of Mike's first youtube videos back in January of 2015 that set me on a path that has seen me not only change my life, but save my sisters life.It was great to sit down with someone who I truly admire and have learnt so much from in this coaching, weight loss and body reshape space as well as how to be a great human being.Mike was your typical guy growing up in America with a loving family which gave him a great start to crush his school years and receive a job offer at a prestigious Accounting Firm. However, within a few weeks he knew this job was not for him and with a passion in the fitness space he sought out to put himself into a place that would allow him to quit that job and chase his true passion in life.As the saying goes, the rest is history and I invite you to listen into this episode and find out the story of Mike as well as some practical advice to quit your day job and follow your passion.Again, I would like to thank Mike for dropping in to have a chat and I hope you all enjoy this episode as much as I did. Below you will find links to all of his social media, websites and products and I highly recommend you give him a follow as I am sure you will not only enjoy his content but learn a thing or two along the way.I hope you enjoy the podcast and as always, please hit that SUBSCRIBE BUTTON to make sure you never miss any future episode and please consider leaving a 5 STAR RATING and POSITIVE REVIEW as it would meant the world to me.Join the tribe and become a NO BREAKFAST CLUB member today and receive a brand new workout each week, access to 3 LIVE Zoom sessions each week and access to the my VIMEO on demand workouts that you can do in your own time.Anyone can join and all you need to do is CLICK HERE to find out more and sign up today to join the team!Contact Mike VacantiWebsite: www.ontheregimen.comContact The No Breakfast Guy:Instagram: @the_no_breakfast_guyWebsite: www.thenobreakfastguy.comEmail: info@thenobreakfastguy.comYouTube: www.youtube.com/thenobreakfastguy

[REPLAY] Mike Vacanti — Wrestling With Life: Fitness, Family, Fear, Success, Goals, Religion, Money, & More! | MTFP Ep.39

The More Than Fitness Podcast With Matt McLeod

No new episode for this week, so we're throwing it back to one of my favorite episodes with one of my favorite people. Mike has been an online fitness coach for several years, coaching hundreds (possibly thousands) of people, one of them being millionaire serial entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk. I was lucky enough to catch Mike for an in-person interview while I was in NYC, and he did not disappoint. We started off talking about the "75 Hard" challenge he's been doing for the past few weeks, re-igniting his passion for fitness, then we veered into becoming nihilistic and gaining a psychological grasp on religion, and ended talking about "money dials" and what Mike is excited for in the future. Obviously, there was a bit of everything in this one. I really hope you enjoy it. Challenging the Status Quo

Digital Savages proudly presents the new episode of 'Challenging the Status Quo' podcast season two with Mike Vacanti, Catalyst for Positive Change, Speaker, Consultant and CEO Advisor at MJ Vacanti, author of Believership and Founder at HumansFirst. The believership is born from the belief in the team, the mission and people leading the initiative.  'The greatest gifts happen because I was willing to change my mind! Rigidity is our enemy of enjoyment in life. And the possibilities are growing; through time, we create our unnecessary barriers. If we open our mind and our hearts, we can allow great things to happen within our lives!'
