The Trump of South America with Nato Green & Michael Fox (Ep 153)
The Bitchuation Room
The upcoming election in Brazil is a good opportunity to take stock of the disaster that Jair Bolsonaro has been for the country: Amazonian destruction, trampling human rights, and a violent culture war that is terrifyingly Trumpian. Journalist Michael Fox joins the podcast to break it down and what Lula da Silva's chances are of winning. Also with Queen Elizabeth dead, it's a good time a time as any to talk about monarchy, colonialism and empire. And Senator Lindsey Graham introduces a bill to ban abortions nationwide at 15 weeks. Will it backfire or galvanize the far right? Finally, black fantastical creatures are triggering the racists. What other things can we ruin for them? Plus a BONUS BISH all about JK Rowling's latest book series that is definitely not about her being canceled for transphobia.
