Joshua 1:1Keep the past in the proper perspective. God never wastes words or makes mistakes. He was telling Joshua exactly what Israel needed to learn. Moses’ contribution continues but his day was over.Daren Ritchey
“At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it?-- Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never!--All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.” Abraham LincolnWhat in America is going on? Are there really people who want to destroy this nation? Do you feel at times that you are losing your country? Do you know that people are rewriting our history? Do you understand that there is an ongoing struggle between ideologies? Have you perceived that Christianity is under attack? Do you realize that our freedoms are hanging in the balance? One of the primary contemporary ideologies is social justice. We need to understand what true justice is and we need to understand the ideology underlying the contemporary social justice movement. Thankfully we have an infallible source of truth, the Word of God.
Contrary to what is often presented in our culture Christianity has had an amazing positive impact upon women. A new era dawned for womanhood with the coming of Jesus. The fact that He was born of a woman, God in the flesh, elevated not just Mary but all women. Jesus by His own example exalted women. This week we are considering the mother and grand-motherof a young man named Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:1-7.
The command Jesus spoke more than any other was “Fear not.” Jesus does not want His disciples to be living with insecurity especially in regard to their personal salvation. Some believe that we cannot have the assurance of salvation. This primarily comes from an unbiblical view of salvation. The belief that salvation is based upon works results in never being sure if I have done enough to earn it. God in His Word reveals that assurance is possible and even commanded. 2 Peter 1:10, “Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble.”

Are things more important to me than people? My desire for money can negatively impact my family and my relationships.Am I collecting more things and finding less fulfillment?Things do not bring lasting contentment.Am I compromising my integrity to gain more things? The love of money will exert a powerful influence on my life.Am I seeking to find through money what only Jesus can provide?
Last Sunday and saw that Jesus is the only infallible financial advisor. Jesus is not teaching buying or giving one’s way into heaven as some believe. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus alone, Romans 6:23
