Street Vet, the Homeless & their Pets, with charity founder Jade Statt

This week's guest on Brave New You TRIBE is Jade Statt, founder of the charity Street Vet UK. When she recognised that there was a problem for the homeless being able to get medical help for their pets, she set out to find a solution. Teaming up with another vet who had a similar mission, they strapped on backpacks and joined forces with other homeless providers to supply care to the owners' dogs. And so Street Vet UK was born and since then it has spread across the country with many vets and nurses volunteering their time to give support and care where it is needed. Pets are therapy for their owners who often put their dogs' well-being above their own. Broadcaster Clare Balding is now the Street Vet UK Ambassador.

Host, artist & illustrator, Lou Hamilton chats with Jade as they discuss mental health, pet therapy, homelessness and what courage looks like when you believe in something and encourage others to come along on the journey. This is Jade's Story from the Edge.
