About the Guest: Allison Moore is a passionate and energetic native of South Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors in Human Environmental Sciences. Early in her career she worked in the hospitality and guest services industries and then transitioned to corporate nonprofit work. Allison resigned as the American Cancer Society's South Alabama Executive Director in 2013 to become the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation's Executive Director. Allison has rebranded the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation and brought structure, technology, and new resources to the Peer Helpers Programs. The Foundation annually hosts the National Peer Program Conference, a student a two day conference for Peer Helper students, and a three day Professional Rodeo fundraiser. Allison leads workshops for Peer Helpers Program Coordinators and conducts trainings for new programs. She is also a certified facilitator of Youth Mental Health First Aid. In 2016, the Professional Cowboy Association named Allison as the PCA Humanitarian of the Year for her dedication to youth and work to bring suicide prevention and the known risk factors to schools in a peer-to-peer support program, Peer Helpers. In 2017, Allison co-founded ThriveWay, the sister organization to the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation, to bring Peer Helpers to school systems beyond Baldwin County, Alabama. She serves on numerous committees including Baldwin County's Children Policy Council, Baldwin Community Alliance, the Baldwin County Public Schools District Design Planning Committee and Federal Programs Advisory group. She is currently the Chairperson for the Alabama Suicide Prevention Advisory Committee working to implement the Jason Flatt Act which was enacted in 2016.Allison lives in Fairhope, Alabama with her husband and two boys. She enjoys movies, football and the beach. Allison’s desire is to see our youth not merely survive… but thrive in life!
