Emmy-nominated actor/singer Tituss Burgess (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) joins us this week! We start with a recent afternoon in his gazebo (4:16), where he reminded himself that the pandemic is a marathon, not a sprint (7:50). In that same memory he also reflects on why his art is especially of value in 2020 (12:10); his mere existence on screen a political act (16:23). Later, we unpack his run on 30 Rock, and the spiritual experience that followed (20:50). In the aftermath of finding purpose, he’s had to reconcile his relationship with his mother (35:27) and the dark personal storm that is now, finally, passing over (45:28).See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

343: Tituss Burgess On Forgiving Andy Cohen & Destruction Of Black Icons
Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee [UNCENSORED]
This week on Hollywood Unlocked [UNCENSORED] Jason, Melyssa, and Damage are joined by American actor and singer, Tituss Burgess.Tituss gets straight into his beef with Andy Cohen and ultimately forgiving him. If you recall, Tituss previously appeared on Cohen's talk show and referred to him as “a messy queen," for poking at him with Eddie Murphy questions. Despite Murphy making gay jokes in the past, Tituss says they are good friends and that he thoroughly enjoyed working with him. He didn't approve of Cohen's tactics to try and get him to speak negatively about Murphy.
What’s Up With Tituss Burgess Coming For Andy Cohen?
Bryan and Chris start the show with a conversation about how well Chris would do as a CIA agent. They also talk about the Democratic debates from this week. At 12:45 they share a clip of Tituss Burgess giving Andy Cohen attitude on WWHL over a question about Eddie Murphy’s homophobic jokes. Why did he feel the need to come for Andy after the interview? They also tell us who Lady Gaga is dating now and ask if she’s staging her public photos. At 21:25 they play a game of Gag It or Bag It, including one about whether or not emojis have any place in sexting. At 27:00 a listener writes in to ask whether or not the guy he’s dating is just using him to test out a gay relationship. As a person who is open and honest about their own sexuality, is it harder to date someone who isn’t out of the closet yet?
