#59: The Pig Farm Serial Killer (Case - Robert Pickton)
Did you know pigs will eat anything? The Pickton Pig Farm - was isolated, private, had its own slaughterhouse equipped with commercial freezers, and hundreds of very hungry pigs. The farm was well known by locals for many things - mainly the smell that radiated from it… but soon it would be known by the whole world. For where 49 women get murdered…

The Misery Machine
This week, Drewby and Yergy cover another listener suggestion (thank you Bec!) and travel 17 miles east of Vancouver to the Canadian city of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia for the horrific case of Robert "Willie" Pickton, a Canadian pig farmer and serial killer that terrorized the homeless for years. With the police denying the crimes were even happening, how did Pickton's reign ever come to an end? A very special thank you to Levi for supporting our show as our highest tier patron! 237 - The Pig Farmer Killer: Canada's Filthy Robert Pickton
Timesuck with Dan Cummins
Robert Pickton was born in 1949 just outside of Vancouver, CA, in Port Coquitlam, on a pig farm. His parents were Helen and Leonard Pickton, two insanely filthy human beings who couldn’t have cared less about clean clothes or a house that wasn’t full of animal shit or even about bathing their children, Robert, his sister Linda, and his brother, Dave. Robert would live on the family farm his entire life before going to prison for the murder of six women. Police had evidence that he killed at least another twenty, but it was unnecessary to also try him for those crimes. Pickton killed these women and then butchered their bodies, feeding some of their remains to his pigs, and possibly feeding some of their remains to local Vancouverites as well. Today's story is such a strange one. It involves the Hells Angels, a place called the Piggy Palace Good Times Society, and so, so, so much filth. Hope you enjoy getting dirty with this Suck. February 6, 2002 Robert Pickton, the owner and operator of Pickton Farms, was a quiet man. His farm was not like your average run-of-the-mill farming setups. Pickton was known to throw wild, drug fueled raves on the property and invite people from all walks of life to come and party at his barn. While these raucous parties were wild, nothing horrific happened there, or so Bill Hiscox, an employee of the farm, thought. Hiscox began noticing that women who would come to the farm started going missing. On February 6, 2002, Hiscox would inform the police who would search the premises and find items belonging to the missing women on the grounds of the farm. What makes this case so horrific is that the bodies wouldn’t be found… because they were fed to the farm animals Check out our socials for more updates! Before you listen to this particular episode, I wanted to mention that the perpetrator in the case targeted sex workers many of whom were indigenous women struggling with addiction and/or mental health issues. According to www.statista.com, in 2018, the rate of homicide victims among women in Canada was more than six times higher for the indigenous population. Often, victims of violent crimes, Indigenous people are twice as likely to suffer a physical assault, and three times as likely to become victims of robbery and sexual assault compared to their non-indigenous counterparts. If you would like to find out more about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, please visit.amnesty.ca or kairoscandada.org. Robert William Pickton was a Canadian farmer who, along with his brother, would run the farming business after his parents passed away. The men had some success with the farming but Robert's greatest legacy had nothing to do with farming. This is a grotesque story about a man who would ultimately be responsible for a series of missing women and the horror they must have endured.Join Jen and Cam as we discuss 'The Pig Farmer: Robert Pickton' on this episode of Our True Crime Podcast. This week we are going north of the border to Canada back in the early 1980’s when a serial killer was on the loose terrorizing the city of Vancouver. He would eventually be arrested and charged for 6 murders but would go on to confess to 49! Join us as we take you behind the mind of this killer, his life, and his crime spree that lasted almost 20 years before he was caught!
Robert Pickton was a pig farmer in Vancouver, Canada. In 2007, he was prosecuted for the murders of 6 women, but it is believed he has killed many more. He was a violent drug addict who got away with murder for 10 years. In the beginning of the episode, we hear from Emily from The Student's Verdict. Emily is a beautiful person, and produces some of the best true crime content I have seen/heard. Giver her a listen and follow her on Instagram & Twitter @thestudentverdictpod and @studentverdict.
