Joshua Starnes writer/publisher of "The Box" from RED 5 COMICS

Episode 83 - David Anthony sits down with writer/publisher Joshua Starnes from Red 5 Comics to talk about his New comic "THE BOX" Red 5 Comics releases its newest hit series The Box this August. Delving into the world of magic and mystery, writer Joshua Starnes introduces us to the strange world of Leo Bloom. Leo is a private detective. His partner is a Box. A magic Box from which he can take whatever he can imagine ... some of the time. But when he's framed for the kidnapping of a prominent scholar Leo suspects a plot to take his prized possession from him. Can he find out before either the police or the Mafia find him? A classical noir story in the vein of The Maltese Falcon and The Long Goodbye, but with a magical twist, The Box introduces us to a world of monsters and murder right next door to our everyday lives. "This is a special story that's been in my head for a long time," Starnes said. "I've always wanted to do a private detective story and I've been looking at a new way to approach it and this is exactly that. Whatever you think The Box is, it is something different all together." #thebox #Red5Comics #JoshuaStarnes https://www.red5comics.com/ Twitter: @joshstarnesfilm Instagram: @jbstarnes1 Kulipari: An Army of Frogs - Netflix Trailer https://youtu.be/eih9j9Sioig - Subscribe TODAY To Our YouTube Channel - Help Support Us By Joining Our Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/outbreakpodcast Order T-shirts, Coffee Cups and More! www.teepublic.com/user/outbreakpodcast Escape Pod website: https://www.outbreakpodcast.com Email us at: outbreakpodcast@gmail.com Get a FREE audiobook download and 30 day free trial at https://www.audibletrial.com/outbreak Filmed On Location at: OUTBREAK STUDIO Outbreak Podcast Network Escape Pod Theme Song by: David B. No New A**holes in 2020 (w/Joshua Starnes)

Everything Is Cancelled

I start off the New Year on a very melancholic note. I basically begin things by rambling about how things continue to be not going well for me (this was brought on by having to dip into my rent money to get a replacement iPhone) and urging people to stop being dicks in social media and in real life. Later on, I talk to old friend (and fellow Houston Film Critics Society member) Joshua Starnes about the year in movies. As for music, I play tunes by Citizen Cope, Adrian Younge featuring Gallant and David Bowie. This episode is sponsored by WoodRocket.com. Donate to the podcast here.

Everything Is Cancelled

Let's start the New Year off right! On the first episode of 2019, I just go into things that we absolutely don't need this year, and that includes white people calling on black people because they have too many coupons, people talking about spilling the tea and black dudes making videos in their car. Later on, I talk to returning champion Joshua Starnes, film critic and head of the Houston Film Critics Society, about the society's upcoming movie awards and why it seems he watches more films than anyone on Earth. As for music, I play stuff from Vince Staples, Tyler, the Creator featuring Jerry Paper and Radiant Children. The Sour Hour airs Wednesday nights, 9/8c, on KPFT HD2.
