Re-release: Dear World with Michaela Runkle

Circle City Success

Michaela Runkle is a domestic violence survivor who started writing memoirs about her experience which ended up becoming a book called Dear World. She had trouble finding relatable resources to help her cope and recover mentally from the incident so her goal with Dear World is to be open and tell her story to let other young survivors know that there’s someone who understands what they’re going through and that they’re not alone. In the first half of this episode, you’ll hear Michaela tell us her story, talk about both the good and the bad of how her friends and family reacted when she told them that she had been a victim of domestic violence, and the mechanisms that she’s put in place to help her move past the incident and feel confident and strong. In the second half, you’ll hear Michaela speak about her experience as a professor at IUPUI and what she’s learned from that, her lifting journey and how it’s helped her, and her definition of success.in Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/michaela_runkle/

Episode 267 – One Of The Most Important Conversations I Have Had: Interview with Michaela Runkle

FIT CHICKS Chat

Today we tackle one of the most difficult but important conversations we have had to date. Michaela Runkle is a domestic violence survivor and graciously shares her story with us all. She shares about her relationship, her health and how the altercation has transformed the way she looks at herself and her relationships. This topic is normally more hush hush which is exactly why we are so grateful to share her story to provide one perspective as well as some resources for anyone listening. Thank you Michaela for being so open and  courageous to start a movement for others who may have also had a similar journey or might still be in a situation they feel others do not understand.
