Antonio Ciongoli Returns! PATREON PREVIEW

Blamo!

Everyone is just trying to survive; I think this is something you hear everywhere, from every business and perspective. Then there's Antonio Ciongoli, and 18 East. A brand that yes, is trying to survive but right now is flourishing. Antonio, the creative director, is an old friend, and something I've loved about him is while he's a designer, he's also an evangelist. Over the years, I've watched him as the influencer's influencer, seeding ideas to friends–– the double monk, the camp mocc, hell, the cargo pant. Because when Antonio gets into an idea, he gets INTO it, and that's something I genuinely love about him.Antonio and I chatted about his previous company Eidos, and how the ups and downs of that business helped him launch and run 18 East. A brand that if you haven't been obsessed with yet, you're probably about to be.**Listen to the entire episode on Blamo! Extra

Born to Run with 18 East's Antonio Ciongoli

Failing Upwards

Let's try this again. In a shocking turn of events, the boys are BACK this week with our SEASON 11 premiere. The boys are joined by long-time homie, 18 East's Antonio Ciongoli. Antonio hits the stu to talk about cutting his teeth amongst the greats at Ralph Lauren, his untouchable design pedigree, and then venturing out and doing things his own way at 18 East. Then, in what may very well be our last Captain's Log/Letters to Home ever, the core 4 all give their own constructive criticism after FU's disastrous 3 year run. See you next week?

The Dropcast #69: The Real Swagdads of New Jersey feat. Antonio Ciongoli of 18 East

Highsnobiety Podcasts

18 East is one of the best new menswear labels out today.  The Dropcast (our 69th episode...NICE), hosts Noah Thomas and Jian DeLeon are joined by the brand's founder and creative director, Antonio Ciongoli. We talk about Ciongoli's past in menswear, designing for Ralph Lauren Rugby, Michael Bastian, and underappreciated line Eidos. Then he gives some wisdom on how to run an independent label today, and how he's striving to build a brand versus simply sell product. He also tells us how he's able to make such fire pieces while keeping the prices super reasonable. Like seriously, his pants are under $150 and his shirts cap out at $165. Of course, it wouldn't be The Dropcast if we didn't talk about some of the week's most fire pieces and news hits. From Kid Cudi's upcoming animated series to new campaigns from Balenciaga, Ciongoli also dishes on how he feels about the Engineered Garments x New Balance 990v5s teased by EG's Angelo Uruttia last week.As always, we turn to Dropcast listeners to weigh in on the QOTW: How long will the dadcore style trend last?As a dad himself, Ciongoli is no stranger to getting fatherhood fits off, and for that reason he's probably the swaggiest dad in New Jersey. Listen to the episode to hear why the next wave might be dressing like your auntie.Check out Highsnobiety's Instagram every Monday for The Dropcast's Question of the Week (QOTW) and then call The Dropcast Hotline at 833-HIGHSNOB (833-444-4766) for a chance to end up in a future episode.
