Each week I check for any new iTunes reviews and it's always a buzz to receive these… for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, it's confirmation that I'm on the right track with the interviews and that they really are helping you improve your photography business. That's awesome!

Secondly, iTunes is the biggest search engine when it comes to podcasts and it's your reviews and ratings that help other photographers find PhotoBizX. More listeners mean more interviews and ultimately a better show.

When you have too many decisions to make, people get confused and they don't end up buying. – Sean LeBlanc

If you haven't and you'd like to, head to and you can leave some honest feedback and a rating which will help both me and the show and I'll be sure to thank you on the show and add a link to your website or blog if you let me know the URL of your website and your name.

Alternatively, if you've left a review for PhotoBizX and are looking for more backlinks to help your SEO, leave a review for the new Photography Xperiment Podcast and email me your keywords or keyword phrase and where you'd like me to link to.

★★★★★ Hands down the best!

If you are looking for advice on running a successful photography business, there isn't a better podcast out there. This isn't boring talk about accounts or how to take photos, this is how to market yourself and get clients.

I've been listening to the Photobizx podcast for years and find them fun, entertaining, inspiring and informative. Keep listening and spread the word!

Nice one Andrew

Mark from Shotkit has curated a list of photography specials and he says… Let’s admit it – no matter which way we look at the current situation, there are very few good things about being on COVID-19 lockdown.

Yes, we can try our best to stay productive as photographers, but there’s only so many things you take photos of when you’re stuck between four walls!

On a more serious note, many photography-brand retailers are struggling, and have been forced to heavily discount their products in an attempt to increase demand… or just stay afloat.

For us the consumers, this is a good thing. We may not need a hiking camera backpack when the most climbing we do is up our stairs every day, but it’s nice to seize the opportunity to ‘stock up’ on gear when prices are low!

Above all, STAY SAFE!!

I listen to my customers. I listen to my clients. I have a really good sense of people's energies and like what they are not saying. And I never want to be in a position where I'm pressuring somebody into purchasing something. – Kara Marie Trombetta

Kara Marie On Inspring Confidence

I’ve found it a joy to speak with someone who’s authentic. I’ve also found that a necessary trait for authenticity is vulnerability. Being able to recognize your flaws or weaknesses whether past or present, is powerful. And I think it can lead to something even more powerful…confidence. I was having some trouble with something the other day and my 6 year old son was watching me. After failing to get it right for the third or fourth time, he spoke up. “Just have confidence, Dad. That’s all you need.” he said as serious as he could be. And he was right. Confidence is that powerful and important. Kara Marie knows this. And she knows it from her own experience. Her photography is niched in a way that inspires confidence in her clients. And many times, that’s exactly what they need.

A photographer for the modern woman, Kara Marie has commanded the camera

professionally for over a decade. She has made it her life’s work to advocate

female individualism and self-love through her career as a photographer and

educator. With impactful black and white photographs as her medium of choice,

Kara’s work has celebrated thousands of extraordinary women over the years.

A practical “minimalist”, Kara Marie uses natural light and intentional shadow to

honor the female form while simultaneously giving women permission to rejoice in

themselves exactly as they are in any given moment. More importantly, Kara

believes that a photo shoot should be an uplifting first-class customer service

experience that builds confidence before her clients even lay eyes on their images.

Her understated, monochromatic style is world-renowned for both its beauty and

its honesty in capturing the soul of the woman in front of the camera.

Kara Marie Trombetta is headquartered in Austin, TX where she operates two

successful photography studios and is currently in the process of publishing her

first book. Beyond the studio, she is the mother of two boys, a wife to her high

school sweetheart, an avid traveler, and a food enthusiast.

About Kara Marie

She believes whole-heartedly in “girl power” and her life’s work is to make sure women know how important and special they are through high-end photography experiences laden with stellar customer service and pampering. She is a capital “F” feminist until it comes to spiders…then it’s a man’s job.

What's Covered in this Episode

This episode is one of my faves, for sure. Kara is super funny and easy to talk to, and one of the most focused, hard-working women I've met. Her commitment to her work and bringing her visions to life is quite inspiring. In our conversation, we talked about...

  • Why Kara focuses on boudoir, and why it's important for her.
  • Why it's worth it to hold out for the boudoir photographer you want.
  • How Kara keeps her work fresh and interesting with a very regimented schedule (she's booked out for the rest of the year, ya'll!)
  • Balancing life with a husband who is also an entrepreneur and two kids.
  • What Kara is doing to expand her experience in 2018.

This episode is really candid, funny, and inspiring. Kara is one of my favorite entrepreneurs right now and you will LOVE this conversation. Enjoy!!
