52: Part 2 - In Björk's Name, Amen (ft. Ashley Rose)

The Mindful Narcissist

This is part two chatting with one of my long-time best friends & amazing singer songwriter Ashley Rose. We talk about her experience seeing Björk live (aka meeting god), expanded definitions of church and worship, whether the power of seeing a work of art or performance in person comes from the presence of the work/artist or from the environment it’s in, collective energy and the dancing plague of 1518 (disclaimer around the time we were talking about that I really poorly tried to explain the “neurological phenomenon” of brain activity syncing up but really what I was trying to talk about was mirror neurons and that is not at all an accurate description of how mirror neurons function my bad), go back into our previous concept album chat, discuss singer songwriters and take a bit of a deep dive into the way Tori Amos writes, chat about how helping one connect with oneself is a sacred function of art, and more.
