Radioactive Metal 647: Fistful Of Entombed – with Aaron Price (Fistful of Metal magazine)

The Shining Wizards Network

As we began compiling this week’s episode, tragedy struck the Metal world. We lost one of the all time greats in L.G. Petrov, mainman behind the legendary Entombed. So we decided a fitting tribute was in order. To assist us we enlisted the insights of Aaron Price. Mr. Price is a scribe for the new “Fistful Of Metal” magazine. We sat down and discussed all things Entombed: our fave album, song and our discovery of the band. And probably most importantly, we predict the future of an Entombed incarnation without the main mouthpiece. No L.G. = No Entombed? In our “News, Views and Tunes”, we acknowledge the passing of Lou Otten, the inventor of the cassette, and our experiences with the medium. Plus, Rob Zombie remaking The Munsters??!! Musically, we crank some Nihilist, Cryptopsy, Entrails, Wolf King, Witchtit, Revel In Flesh and introduce Cerbearus in the week’s “Indie Spotlight”. Horns Up and Stay Healthy! Radioactive Metal 647

E137: Reverse Engineering: The Outcome with Aaron Price

Entrepreneurs Circle

Aaron Price is the president and CEO of TechUnited and the Founder of Propelify which is an innovation festival that happens in Hoboken, New Jersey. Propelify was acquired by the New Jersey Tech Council, which is now rebranded as TechUnited. Today, he's going to share with us what the experience was like and why he turned down all the other sexy offers from Entrepreneur Magazine and Gary Vaynerchuk. Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation: Other companies that were interested in buying his company and why he went with the New Jersey Tech Council The biggest mistake of his career The power of mentorship How much information should you share with others? The future of corporate culture Episode Highlights: Thought Process Behind Taking On Investors It's very important to listen to yourself and have a heart-to-heart moment especially if it doesn't feel right. Think about your expectations, what you're hoping to achieve, and whether the excitement just overshadows everything. Just be very thoughtful about the kind of investors you want. There are different types of investors so look at this from a standpoint of "who you want to get in bed with" type of situation. The Power of Surrounding Yourself with Mentors At the early point of your career, it's very important to surround yourself with people who could help you and who could be your sounding board when you have tough decisions to make. These people elevate you. At the same time, being able to help others feels good and it can fuel your energy. It's a "one plus one equals three" game that keeps things moving. Then also be aware that there’s that professional side of things, and then the personal side. Don’t share all the share deals probably until it’s fully baked but clearly set expectations upfront. The Future of Corporate Culture The democratization of technology allows people to start something from anywhere and it's equally accessible once it's online. There's an opportunity for all these other B markets to grab and hold on to that talent and to create an infrastructure that has a better lifestyle, but still keeps them fully employed. We'll be seeing more of a hybrid model where people either go to the office or do remote work, not to mention the opportunities for international collaborations. It's all about figuring out the model that works for your company. Resources Mentioned: TechUnited Propelify --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/erikecabral/support
