De wereld van Virtual reality is enorm aan het groeien en de mogelijkheden voor een storyteller zijn ongekend. Dat het zo veel meer biedt dan gaming is echter vaak nog onbekend, zoals de toepassing in het onderwijs of geestelijke gezondheidszorg. Door bijvoorbeeld patiënten te laten oefenen in een virtuele wereld, kunnen verschillende psychische problemen en verslavingen worden aangepakt. VR biedt nieuwe manieren van verhalen vertellen, waarbij je volledig wordt ondergedompeld in een verhaal. Eén van deze interactieve virtual reality-ervaringen is The Key. In The Key ga je als deelnemer op een reis waarin dromen worden verkend en uitdagingen en moeilijke keuzes worden voorgeschoteld. Tijdens deze reis ontdek je een verborgen waarheid die je wereld op zijn kop zet. Met de maker Celine Tricart ga in gesprek over The Key en de fascinerende wereld van VR . Celine Tricart is een storyteller, regisseur en internationaal Virtual Reality-expert. In 2016 richtte ze Lucid Dreams Productions op, een productiebedrijf gespecialiseerd in nieuwe technologieën en de toekomst van storytelling, dat betrokken was bij tal van bekroonde VR-ervaringen. Celine heeft een unieke en herkenbare stijl ontwikkeld met zeer emotionele verhalen en sterk beeldend kunstenaarschap. Haar werk werd tentoongesteld op tal van Academy Awards-qualified festivals. Ze ontving onder meer een Leeuw voor Beste VR Immersive Work van het Filmfestival van Venetië, een Storyscapes Award van Tribeca, twee Lumiere Awards door de Advanced Imaging Society, twee Telly Awards en een Platinum Aurora Award en vele andere onderscheidingen. Your phone or your game system. Don the mask and assume the task!Celine Tricart is a Paris-trained producer/director now based in LA who produces in 3D and VR. She is also a master storyteller. In this episode, Celine describes the great opportunities in storytelling and story “experiencing” awaiting creative people like you. Celine reports that low cost VR equipment is currently available for entrepreneurially-mined producers who want to experiment and teach themselves. There are VR workshops in LA and other large cities, but sustained training programs are still few and far between. Support groups that encourage participation in VR activities can be found online. This brand new creative medium – where traditional approaches to storytelling and filmmaking may actually be more hindrance than help – is especially fertile ground for young, diverse creative people to work together. That’s why exceptional producers have exceptional teams that they have built up.
