Allan Dib on how he marketed his book to sales of over $300,000 & got 5,000+ reviews
Before The Bestseller
It wouldn’t look too great if a book about marketing didn’t sell well. Luckily that’s not the case here with hundreds of thousands of copies sold and over 5000 reviews on Amazon, Allan Dib wrote a book which continues to sell better and better years after it’s launch.I want to know why that is and what Allan Dib is currently doing to keep momentum going for the One Page Marketing Plan. In this episode, Allan walks us through the marketing plan for his book, The One Page Marketing Plan.
It seems that the most successful marketing plans are often those that are the simplest. However, describing a marketing plan as simple can leave many business owners confused. How can marketing be considered simple when there are so many different tools and platforms available? So many different demographics to communicate with? And the speed at which the marketing space evolves? Surely marketing is not simple. This episode’s guest, Allan Dib is confident that he can simplify marketing for any business and has even developed a ‘One Page Marketing Plan Canvas’ that business owners can access for free. On The Dent Podcast, we interview key people of influence in all walks of life. We delve deep to unearth how these successful people got to where they are, their trials and tribulations, as well as their successes, and what their experiences can teach us all. Allan Dib is the founder of Succeswise, a serial entrepreneur, rebellious marketer, and the bestselling author of The 1-Page Marketing Plan. With over 20 years experience as an entrepreneur, Allan has built several multi-million dollar businesses in the IT, telecommunications, and marketing fields. Here’s a taste of Allan Dib and Glen Carlson’s conversation – Allan breaks down his entrepreneurial journey, including how he taught himself marketing through a trial and error approachHow Allan made marketing simple by developing a guide that allows business owners to create their own one page marketing planRecognising that however specialized or niche your skills may be; that there will always be a target group out there willing to pay you for your knowledge and productsHow coaching can assist any business to grow beyond a plateau by providing a viewing point into the business for someone outside of itWhy publishing books is still relevant in the marketing space in 2022How to acquire and continue to accumulate value, credibility and authority in your field of expertiseMarketing alternatives for those who do not want to be a face for their brandAllan explains how businesses can utilize his one page marketing plan canvas and how to download the canvas for free from successwise.comAllan shares some of the tech tools that he is using everyday in his business, including a CRM system Links to connect with Allan Dib – Website Instagram Facebook Twitter LinkedIn The post 108. The One Page marketing plan has a global following. The book has over 5,000 reviews on Amazon and is still a bestseller, years on from its launch. Allan Dib makes marketing palatable for the average business owner who has a great product or service but no idea how to get it to market. Like Allan says, it’s not a revolution in marketing but it is a revolution in marketing implementation because as I’m sure most of you know, spontaneous marketing activities don’t work. Allan also talks about the need to systematize your marketing which to me is the biggest takeaway from the book and something I’m actually right now working on to implement in my business.Let’s jump into the One Page Marketing Plan with Allan Dib.

He had a very slow uptake because he had no idea how it was supposed to be done. Trying to figure it all out by himself cost Allan a decade in terms of time which is very expensive. Allan also spent thousands of dollars on trial and error. He could have shortcutted that process to maybe a year or six months had he got the right mentors, coaching, and people to walk him through the process.Lessons learnedWhen facing problems in your business, start by figuring out the who, not the how.Find experts to help you out with the things you don’t have expertise in.Andrew’s takeawaysAccept that you’re not going to be the one that’s going to solve every problem you face in your business.Actionable adviceIf you’ve got no budget, one thing that you can do immediately is to create a marketing plan. He has started, grown and successfully exited multiple businesses in various industries, and is the founder of Successwise.com, where the focus is on Mastering Marketing to fuel high-growth businesses.Key Takeaways: Consider augmentation vs. automation - we can create systems and save time while still keeping the relationships we’re building personal. “The 30 seconds that follow the question, “What do you do?” is one of the most commonly wasted marketing opportunities. The response is almost always self-focused, unclear, and nonsensical.” Focus on the problem you help others solve instead. One is the most dangerous number in your business - having one key person, or product or channel, or anything else makes you fragile. ⭐️ Permission Slip:You’re allowed to suck. To do good work and good marketing, and build a good business, you have to start at the bottom and suck at the beginning.📘Books Mentioned: Free Time: Lose The Busywork, Love Your Business Pivot The 1-Page Marketing Plan: Get New Customers, Make More Money and Stand Out From the Crowd 🔗Allan on the Web: Successwise, Instagram, LinkedIn🔗Resources Mentioned: 1-Page Marketing Plan Canvas VideoAsk.com Seth Godin Chandler Bolt Paul Graham Related Podcast Episodes: Free Time Episode 12: Generating Personal MBA Momentum with Josh Kaufman Free Time Episode 16: IL Licensing with Lee LeFever 🎁 Give yourself (and a friend) the gift of Free Time as we head into 2022: Preorder and submit proof of purchase to get early access to the audiobook as part of the Buy One, Get One, Give One holiday bonus!❤️ Enjoying the show? Episode 68 — Marketing and More with #1 Bestselling Author Allan Dib
The Boardroom Buzz Pest Control Podcast
Paul goes unplugged in this interview. Literally. Maybe this was part of Paul’s plan to get Allan back for another episode, but the show must go on. This isn't an ivory tower novel. What was the powering force for Allan writing The 1-Page Marketing Plan? You’ll be glad that Allan wrote a book to himself but shared it with everyone. Paul name drops some of the biggest names in direct response marketing. Pop quiz, Allan… Shots fired. Allan says, "Don’t start with why. Start with buy." From attribution to target market, The Boardroom Buzz guest gives great advice on marketing for service businesses. Would it really be a Boardroom Buzz episode without mentioning pricing? Allan even gives his recent experience shopping for a plumber… and from there, a 1-star idea is born. You would clone your customers (at least most of them), but how can you scale your business through word of mouth marketing? “Orchestrating and Stimulating Referrals” gets a chapter all to itself. Implementing the template will more than pay for your copy of Allan’s book. Kohl’s finds a way to set a hook in the Baldwin budget. Have you implemented a voucher into your marketing strategy? Patrick wasn’t expecting to find a derivative of The Pareto Principle (the 80/20 Rule) in Allan’s “marketing” book. There’s a lot more than marketing in this bestseller. High five for this week’s guest as he shares his take on entrepreneurship as a tool for social good.
