#25 Anna Beth Clark & Adam - "Literature is Timeless"
The Maurer Power Show
In this episode, I am joined by my former high school English teacher along with my high school classmate, Adam. We explored what the true mission of an English teacher should be and some possibilities on how to get students to actually read the books assigned to them in school. Is there a need for literature in school? We also discussed the differences between teaching now and pre covid19.
It's been a while since we had an adult guest who grew up homeschooled, so why not this week? Beth Clark from Idaho is our guest this week, and we talked about what her life has been like as someone who was homeschooled from the very beginning, we talked about her parents decision to homeschool and how that impacted her family life, as well as some of the things homeschooling might have missed. We also talked about how all the ways homeschooling surpasses that of the traditional model.
