Ep. 79 - Helping Parents with Their Anxiety | Dr. Lauren Cook
Parenting in Real Life
We've talked on this podcast about what to do when your kids have anxiety (episodes 66, 35, and 29), but we haven't talked about when the PARENTS have anxiety. Anxiety and depression can manifest in so many different ways that it might be hard to recognize. This interview with Dr. Lauren Cook is just what we needed to hear as we are still in this pandemic and anxiety and the unknown is high. Dr. Cook shares with us what anxiety looks like, what to do when you are struggling with anxiety as a parent, what do we do when we feel anxiety and our children are around, and we talk about real self care. In the episode, Dr. Cook mentioned a values worksheet. You can find that here: https://courses.drlaurencook.com/Defining-Your-Values You can also find Dr. Cook at https://www.drlaurencook.com/ and on instagram at dr.laurencook. This week’s Product That Makes Parenting Stink Less is a learn to swim life jacket. But as we learned from our experience at Walmart, not all swim floaties are created equal.
