Have you lost a partner or known someone else who has? When the person you love the most passes on, grieving may show you a unique perspective about your relationship that you hadn’t recognized before. In this episode, I am excited to be joined by Patrick Long. Patrick is a father and widower born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2019, Patrick lost his wife, Melanie, to breast cancer. During the months after her passing, Patrick endeavored to follow his lifelong dream of being an author and delved deeper into the grieving process by writing a memoir of Melanie’s final weeks, their lives, and their relationship. In Patrick’s memoir, Ordinarily Extraordinary, he candidly describes Melanie’s death, marital clashes, personal trauma, regrets, and how Melanie’s spirit continues to inspire his life today.
