The ever-increasing cost of healthcare is a big topic in this election year.WWJ's Tom Jordan spoke with a Michigan woman who's finding success in making health care more affordable. Holli Titus of Employee Benefit Logistics in Brighton says, in fact, within requirements of the Affordable Care Act is something called the Medical Loss Ratio, where insurers mark-up 20-percent of their total payments for healthcare services. So she developed a benefits model where she negotiates directly with healthcare providers on behalf of employers based on cost, not on what she describes as a standard over-inflated rate. A trend that's starting to gain traction as healthcare costs continue to rise.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
