Driven Minds – A Type 7 Podcast presented by Gigi SaganskyIn the final episode of the first season of Driven Minds, Gigi is joined by Ted Gushue, the Editor in Chief of Type 7. If you have even the slightest interest in cars or the culture that surrounds them, chances are you already follow Ted Gushue on Instagram. The fact that he was brought home from the hospital in a red Porsche 911 was a beautiful piece of foreshadowing, as he now serves as the editor in chief of Type 7, a platform he created with the brand to expand the Porsche world as it relates to art, architecture, design and overall culture. Ted lives by the credo, “If you don’t do it today, you’ll just be a year older when you do,” a philosophy which has manifested itself in an inspiring life driven by asking questions, telling stories, and feeding his boundless curiosity. We discussed his years navigating the New York social scene as a DJ and nightlife reporter, how a phone call from Graydon Carter supercharged his career as an editor, and how going 65 miles an hour head first down a hand made skeleton luge ice track in Eastern Switzerland can really satiate your need for speed, even if your mom, understandably, does not approve.Ted Gushue // https://www.instagram.com/tedgushue/?hl=enType 7 // https://www.instagram.com/type7/?hl=en See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

OT: The Podcast
“Shaving truffle is like flying private: if you’re the one filming, you ain’t the one paying.” Just one of the pearls of wisdom today’s guest, Ted Gushue, drops on the regular. There are a few reasons we’ve wanted Ted on the pod for a while, and his wit is just a part of it. Ted leads a fascinating life. Something of a nomad, the editor-in-chief of Porsche’s Type 7 publication and the all-round automotive enthusiast is currently passed in St Moritz, as their global ambassador no less. We speak to Ted about the joy of creating legacy content in a disposable age, the love/hate relationship he has with staying in one place, why he’d rather have a handful of great watches he truly loves and why he’s getting on a plane to Japan as soon as can. This week’s episode is brought to you by TAG Heuer. Listen in to hear Felix and Andy chat about the brand’s partnership with Porsche and the new TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph Special Edition. There really is nobody quite like Ted Gushue. He could be described as a "man of sort-of-leisure." He works hard – really hard, in fact – but at the kinds of things that most probably wouldn't consider work at all. Ted is currently something of a nomad, traveling the world taking pictures with his Leica M10, driving the coolest cars from nearly ever era of automotive history, and helping brands reach new audiences. To say Ted's got a dream job would be something of an understatement. He sat down with HODINKEE Founder Ben Clymer and host Stephen Pulvirent for this conversation. Enjoy.
