Julie Daniluk, RHN, is a leading nutritionist and has been featured on The Marilyn Denis Show several times to share nutritional tips and tricks and healthy meal ideas. For twelve years, she was a co-operative owner and the Chief in-store Nutritionist for one of Canada's largest health food stores, The Big Carrot Natural Food Market.

Julie’s passion for nutrition and conscious eating started when she was about seven years old when her mother realized that Julie had severe Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). For Julie, this showed up in symptoms such as insomnia, terrible grades, incredible ups and downs with her moods, and an inability to hold focus. Following the work of Dr. Feingold, a Paediatric Allergist from California, her Mother took Julie off all sugar, artificial sugar, and sucrose and within two weeks her grades went from D’s to straight A’s and she was able to fall asleep at night and get a full night’s rest. These results are attested to the decrease in brain inflammation caused by sugar and sugar byproducts and without the presence of the inflammation, she was able to move into a state of rest and regeneration instead of her body being in fight or flight mode.

Eliminating Inflammation in the Body and ways that we can Identify it:

Inflammation is the body’s emergency healing response system, so we don’t want to fully demonize inflammation because it's what heals you when you have an infection. We need inflammation so that our immune system is aware of when and where to send in help. Inflammation, however, can become a negative thing when it’s locked in for too long and goes from acute inflammation to chronic inflammation. The key here is to learn how to switch this off before it causes a lot of damage.

Know that every single relationship is changeable, including your relationship to food. When you feed yourself healing food, it’s a loving act. Just start with what you can put into your body and by making a positive choice, it will start a domino effect of feeling good and continuing to make better choices. You can find your way through something, the stress comes from the change, and once you adapt to that change (the only constant in life) it can become something that improves the quality of your life. If you want anything in your life, it all starts with the gateway of your health because once your health is sorted, everything is possible.

Julie is currently writing another book with lots of information on Eating Psychology and is developing hundreds of new recipes which she is very excited about! She is also running her Hot Detox Program (linked below on her website) which is an affordable cleanse that you do together with Julie on five different LIVE coaching calls and she has several other guests also featured within the program who provide you with their knowledge and passion about nutrition and detoxification! The goal of this program is to try to help people with their food choices and thus help to raise the vibration of the planet through our food choices.

Increasing your brain function can be as easy as eating the right foods. Sound too good to be true? Julie Daniluk, nutritionist and cooking show host, joins me today to share some wonderful information on how you can improve your nutritional health to benefit so many aspects of your life.

Julie wears multiple hats: she’s been a nutritionist since 1999, hosts Healthy Gourmet, a cooking show available in over 78 countries, and is an author of multiple best-selling books. After getting severe food poisoning in Thailand that left her with colitis and a multitude of health problems heading into her 30s, Julie knew she has to find her own solutions.

The biggest thing she’s learned is that the gut is the key to our bodies’ entire health and if we want to improve anywhere, we need to first heal our intestinal tract. Healing our gut isn’t always a straightforward process, so Julie explains some nutrition facts that are particularly important for women.

Certain foods actually help boost our brain function. We need to be looking for foods high in Omega-3, folate, and iron, as a brain that’s firing on all cylinders will help us all at work. Julie also tells us why pesticides are as bad as they are for our health and what some ways to avoid them are.
