Learning to love coffee for the sake of romance, “Living the dream,” and the power of six months, this week’s podcast features Aaron Schilb. Aaron is a singer/songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee who tirelessly writes and performs music. His debut album, titled “Tonic”, was released on April 14th, 2017 and he is currently recording a new album titled “Rock & Roll Degenerate” with Grammy Nominated Producer Charley Hubbs. As a child, Aaron resisted his family’s urges to play music. Raised in the constant presence of musicians, his father, a pianist, and mother, a composer, both provided piano lessons from an early age. He initially held a strong aversion to following in the footsteps of his family, but the motivation to be a musician came upon seeing “School of Rock” as a teenager and countless nights spent playing Guitar Hero. Music was no longer entertainment – it was a way of life. At the age of 11 years, Aaron began losing his hearing. Ignoring doctor’s orders to stop playing music and live life quietly – he taught himself to play the guitar and has since committed his life to music in the face of advancing deafness. Though despite the discomfort of playing live music that comes along with losing his hearing – such an essential piece of a musician’s life – he continues to write and perform regularly. Not only is Aaron gaining traction in Nashville for his music, but he is also the founder and promoter of Nashville Tour Stop, one of the fastest-growing live music events in Music City. Tune in this week to hear about his journey!
