Free Yourself From The Fear Of Judgement & Start Living! Scott Stabile | We Do Hard Things Podcast
We Do Hard Things with Mark Drager
Years ago a family friend asked Scott Stabile what he wanted to do with his life. Scott told him he wanted to spread as much love as possible. Today, his answer’s still the same. We know life isn't always a party. It's often hard, sometimes brutal. Scott's parents were shot to death when he was fourteen. His brother OD'd on heroin nine years later. He grew up around a lot of addiction, dysfunction, and tragedy. And with too much shame over the fact that he was gay. He hid his pain, and he hid his truth. Not anymore. Author of the book, "Big Love", Scott believes love is the foundation for creating the best life and living out your purpose. Love can be found in our choices that will positively affect not only our own lives but also those who may be less fortunate than ourselves. Please help us welcome to the We Do Hard Things Podcast, Scott Stabile. Hey there, I'm Mark Drager. Scott Stabile's parents were murdered when he was 14. About a decade later his brother died of a heroin overdose. Soon after Scott joined a cult. Through it all, he committed to living his life from love, even forgiving the man who killed his parents. 2 Lives is hosted and produced by Laurel Morales, story edited by Camila Kerwin of the Rough Cut Collective, pod art and website designed by Annie Galloway, music from Blue Dot Sessions.
Scott Stabile loves LOVE. Today he talks with Stephen about his book Big Love and his message for love in this world today that so desperately needs that love. When we learn of Scott’s background, it’s amazing that he has such a positive and loving attitude toward the world, because he wasn’t dealt the best hand as it were. Scott’s parents were murdered when he was just fourteen years old. Then, just nine years later, his brother overdosed on heroine. He grew up around a lot of addiction and tragedy. In addition to this he struggled with his own shame over his sexuality because he is a gay man. All of these situations created a very difficult world for Scott to grow up in. After the tragedies he faced at a young age, he lived in a cult for 13 years, before finally building the courage to walk away. Now, Scott believes the way to healing is through honesty and living out in the open with your life and spreading love to others as much as possible for that is what this world needs. He is inspirational to watch. NEXT STEPS MENTIONED IN THIS PODCAST: 1. Go to scottstabile.com for more information. 2. Look for Scott Stabile on Instagram and Facebook.
