Paul Duncan: On the Creation of The Star Wars Archives and Interviewing George Lucas

Talking Bay 94: Star Wars Interviews

Paul Duncan is a writer, historian, and the author of the two volumes of Taschen's Star Wars Archives. Mr. Duncan’s research, insights, and his exclusive multi-day interviews with George Lucas, himself, make these books a must-have for any Star Wars fan ... and this interview, if I do say so myself, a must-listen. Listening back on this interview while editing, I was again just so impressed (and obviously so inspired) by Mr. Duncan, and I hope to one day be half the interviewer, researcher and writer that he is. To buy Mr. Duncan’s Star Wars books from Taschen: https://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/film/all/01170/facts.the_star_wars_archives_19771983.htm And to buy his other equally incredible works, directly from his Amazon store: https://www.amazon.com/Paul-Duncan/e/B002QY4OOG It is always so appreciated if you can leave a 5-star review of the show right here on your favorite podcast app, or on Podchaser: podchaser.com/TalkingBay94 Unedited transcripts of previous episodes are now available over at talkingbay94.com. Who Knew? A History Podcast

In the latest installment of Who Knew?, Mr. Rixon and Mrs. Allgood take the listeners to a galaxy far, far, away.... Well, actually, we're going to the year 1977, when a California-born film director released his obscure "space opera" in a handful of movie theaters across the country. This episode will explore the life and career of George Lucas, and how his crowning achievement, Star Wars, forever changed the film industry, including how movies are made, and how they are sold and marketed. Season 2 #8 George Lucas

The Doneson Podcast

Join us for episode eight of the Doneson podcast! Today we will be diving headfirst into everything there is to know about Hollywood heavyweight Mr. George Lucas. When it comes to directors, the Lucas name has a reputation. From American Graffiti to Star Wars, Lucas Films are known for producing quality productions. Despite a few small exceptions like Howard the Duck, most of Lucas’ films grossed enough to be box office hits. A noted philanthropist, George Lucas is intent on giving away half his fortune during his lifetime. Investing a lot of it in the education of future generations. Despite all this and the incredible creation of Pixar, one of the most controversial things about Lucas was how he himself became a hypocrite after altering his own movies from their original format. He insisted in his Congressional speech that this was the destruction and defamation of art but then proceeded to do the same thing that he advocated against. Where does this leave his integrity?
