Xavier Scruggs is a husband, a father, a believer, an athlete, and the creator of Xtraordinary Athletes - a community for athletes to come together and learn life skills beyond the field (or court or whatever platform you’re playing on). I love how x talks about setting the foundations early on - whether that be as an athlete preparing to be a culture influence, a father that leads by example for his children or a son learning to listen to his spiritual father. x talks about being willing to learn as much as we can, and knowing whatever decision we make, god’s got us either way.

This is such a great open conversation about being a christian and trying to navigate through this walk of life with patience, wisdom and discernment.

Dear Listener! Super excited about today’s episode with my guest Xavier Scruggs. Xavier is an American professional baseball first baseman who previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins, and the NC Dinos of the KBO League.

He is the host of the Xtradordinary Athletes,  a podcast that brings attention to intangibles and discusses topics that help promote wellness/success for the well rounded athlete.

A Major League Player who spent time with the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins. He also spent time playing in Korea and multiple Latin countries. He has a background in communications, public speaking and writing. He is committed to providing a platform where athletes come together to maximize their potential outside of their sport. His time and experience as a professional athlete has equipped him with intangible tools and resources. He is turning those resources into opportunities to develop camps, workshops, and seminars to help prepare young athletes for their journey along the way. Xavier is motivated by his faith, his wife Jessica, and their two son's Ezekiel and Xander.

In today’s podcast we talked about

Xavier’s Story and how he became a pro baseball player

The culture behind nutrition, health and baseball and lessons learned early in his career

Xavier’s pivoting point to focus on his health and nutrition for performance

His experience in Korea and Mexico and the nutritional culture abroad

Things he wished he would’ve done when he was younger

Morning routines and what Xavier’s day looks like

Advice he gives to younger athletes

And more!
