And after leaving Satoshi Labs, she eventually landed at Casa, Inc. In this episode you will hear about why she chose Casa and how Casa's solutions are powering a safer and more user friendly environment for Bitcoin users. Alena Vranova on the Importance of User Experience in Bitcoin

The Anita Posch Show: A Bitcoin only podcast

I met Alena Vranova at the Israel Bitcoin Summit in Tel Aviv in January 2019. We talked about how she got into Bitcoin, why user experience is the most important factor for user adoption, why she wants her Mom to use Bitcoin, about her hopes that the Lightning Network – as a global financial network – is about to explode in 2019. We discuss how TREZOR, the hardware wallet manufacturer she co-founded, and CASA, where she is the Head of Business Development and Strategy, support the security of sovereign hodlers. I am a huge bitcoiner. But we as a Bitcoin community are very impatient and we want to enforce our worldviews on what they call the nocoiners. I don’t like the name, but you get me. We are pushing towards using satoshis or bits instead of Bitcoin, while the world has no idea about Bitcoin yet. There is certain impatience like …… we have the holy grail, why don’t you see that, your stupid if you don’t. So that is kind of the feeling I sometimes have, when I look at the developments in crypto, that are not user focused. – Alena Vranova You are either completely left on your own, when you have a hardware wallet and you need to protect your keys or you go to a Bitcoin bank such as Coinbase and there is nothing in between and we need to bridge that. – Alena Vranova Sometimes I think marketing is almost a swear word for some Bitcoiners. But Marketing is not a bad thing. Bitcoin is a product of collective effort and it deserves a better name and it deserves a nicer interface. So my Mom could eventually say ‘Of course I use Bitcoin’. – Alena Vranova Sponsors Order here and get 20% off! (time-limited) Support the podcast Share the podcast with friends and family! Casa's Jeremy Welch and Alena Vranova on Crypto Custody

What Bitcoin Did

Interview location: SkypeInterview date: Saturday 27th OctoberCompany: CasaRole: Founder (Jeremy Welch), Strategy (Alena Vranova)As the value of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies increase, custody has become an increasingly important and sophisticated part of self-sovereignty. The freedom and ease at which cryptocurrencies can be transferred also makes them a honeypot for hackers, coupled with immutable records, there is little recourse should your funds be stolen.People hold their cryptocurrencies in a variety of wallets, from paper to hardware but these still expose vulnerabilities. From lost seed phrases to personal attacks, there is a demand in the market for more sophisticated custody solutions, and Casa is leading the way in developing the space. With their central three-of-five management solution, Casa has targeted those with significant portfolios, but with the release of their Bitcoin full node and lightning node they are opening up options to more customers. In this interview, I talk with Casa founder, Jeremy Welch and strategy lead, Alena Vranova (previously Trezor) about how the Casa solution works, the challenges of managing custody and why design is central to everything they do.-----If you enjoy The What Bitcoin Did Podcast you can help support the show my doing the following:Become a Patron and get access to shows early or help contributeMake a tip:Bitcoin: 3FiC6w7eb3dkcaNHMAnj39ANTAkv8Ufi2SQR Codes: Bitcoin | Ethereum | Litecoin | Monero | ZCash | RipplecoinIf you do send a tip then please email me so that I can say thank youSubscribe on iTunes | Spotify | Stitcher | SoundCloud | YouTube | TuneIn | RSS FeedLeave a review on iTunesShare the show and episodes with your friends and familySubscribe to the newsletter on my websiteFollow me on Twitter Personal | Twitter Podcast | Instagram | Medium | YouTubeIf you are interested in sponsoring the show, you can read more about that here or please feel free to drop me an email to discuss options.

The Bitcoin Podcast #226: Alena Vranova

The Bitcoin Podcast

This week we chat a bit about the Bitcoin 'Breakthrough' which claims block size increase is possible without hard fork. Some dub it a "breakthrough," others call it a "network attack." In addition we chat about the Czech Republic (Prague) being at the top in the world with the number of (CryptoATM's per Inhabitants). Oh, and SOulja Boy's new bitcoin song. Spoiler alert: It's garbage! For our guest, we are incredibly excited to welcome Alena Vranova back to the show as Head of Strategy and Business Development for Casa. Alena is best known as the co-founder of SatoshiLabs and Trezor. She served as CEO of SatoshiLabs for 4 years, where they brought the first widely successful bitcoin hardware wallet to market. She is, quite frankly, a legend in the crypto space and we couldn’t be happier to learn from her this episode.
