1on1 with Jemaine Clement (I USED TO GO HERE)

ScreenFish Radio

A comedy veteran, Jemaine Clement returns in his latest film, I USED TO GO HERE as David, a college professor who invites one of his former students Kate (Gillian Jacobs) to return to her alma mater as a guest speaker and, potentially, join the faculty herself. In this 1on1, we speak to Clement about whether or not he thinks you can truly go home again, what he thinks his character is looking for and what he thinks makes great comedy today.

008 - What We Do in the Shadows (Jemaine Clement y Taika Waititi, 2014)

La Zanja

¡VAMPIROS!

Creative Conversation

Give Jemaine Clement a platform, and he'll spin it into something comical. The New Zealander is best known as one half of the musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords but his work in comedy stretches across radio, film, stage, and TV. And his latest project, a TV series adaptation of his 2014 mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows, is an exercise in how to mine your past ideas and make them fresh again. In our conversation, Jemaine also explains how to overcome creative differences (without punching your partner in the face) and the importance of editing improv.
