The Bling Viera Podcast

🛴 Take a journey into the heavily scripted non-improvised sci-fi saga where the antagonist BLiNG faces his biggest challenge. Trying to figure out why his car, repossessed due to lack of payment to TitleMax, due to eBay’s corruption & thievery, had been placed in another city without laws or rules, governed by anarchism, 40 miles away at IAAI’s impound junkyard of non-functioning cars, a junkyard despised by Ogden Auto Towing, a company who refused to help outsiders who are unaware of the Ogden’s growing problem of abandoned cars within Walmart’s private property parking lot, a lot devoid of Utah’s 7 day abandonment laws. Why did Ogden Auto Towing hate BLiNG so much? Was it because of IAAI? Was it TitleMax? Was it the roadside assistance enrollment that proved to be anything but a roadside assistance experience? Maybe it was Ogden’s way of life? A life without rules, a city without order. Our antagonist BLiNG was only trying to find help, only to find a ….. Episode 284 - Ray Bradbury (Part 2)

Stars on Suspense (Old Time Radio)

The worlds of Ray Bradbury jump from the page to the airwaves with four old time radio adaptations of his stories. First, a ventriloquist's dummy holds the key to a murder case in "Riabouchinska" (originally aired on CBS on November 13, 1947). Next, a little girl tries to save a woman in danger, but no one believes "The Screaming Woman" is real (originally aired on CBS on March 1, 1955). Finally, we'll hear a pair of Bradbury's classic sci-fi tales adapted for the airwaves. First, his novel "The Martian Chronicles" is presented on Dimension X (originally aired on NBC on August 18, 1950). And a group of astronauts wonder if "Mars is Heaven" on X Minus One (originally aired on NBC on May 8, 1955).

Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury – Episode 44

Reading Radio

Fahrenheit 451 Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit 451 tells of a future where books have been banned and entertainment is designed to dull the senses of the masses.  A fireman named Montag goes from burning books to discover what has been lost by his society.  He must make a choice of what he will do with his discovery and it could cost him everything. What can I say, we love dystopian sci-fi books.  At almost 70 years old this book holds up almost too well as we see a vision of our own future.  Disconnected by their earbuds and their reality TV, this book serves as a warning of things possibly to come. Listen to our discussion on Farhenheit 451 here on Reading Radio.
