Tony Hofmann is a West Point graduate, Qualified Army Ranger, and retired colonel of a 26 year career. He’s has completed over 40 marathons/ultras, including 12 (and counting) Boston Marathons as well as the legendary Leadville 100. Fast seit einem Jahr findet die Lehre an Universitäten nun schon größtenteils nicht mehr in Präsenz statt. Sämtliche Lehrinhalte mussten digitalisiert werden, neue Konzepte entwickelt und Prüfungen umkonzipiert werden. Teilweise verlief der Start der Vorlesungen über Zoom aus den Wohnzimmern der Dozent:innen am Anfang holprig ab. Auch können nicht alle Seminare und Übungen einfach ohne weiteres virtuell abgehalten werden, oft kommt der persönliche Austausch zwischen Dozent:innen und Student:innen zu kurz. Die digitale Lehre bringt teilweise immense Herausforderungen mit sich. Wir sprechen heute mit Dr. Tony Hofman.Heute geht es um seinen veränderten Arbeitsalltag und wie er diesen mit Strategien der Achtsamkeit bewältigt. Dr. Tony Hofmann ist Diplom-Psychologe und wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Pädagogik bei Verhaltensstörungen an der Universität Würzburg. Tony Hofmann spent 26 years serving in the Army with many of those years serving with the US Army Corps of Engineers as a commissioned officer before retiring as a Colonel. An advocate for military veterans, he has served as Board Chairman for Warriors’ Ascent, a non-profit that assists Veterans and First Responders suffering from Post Traumatic Stress. He is the Founder of “Team Leadville”, a high-altitude marathon team that raises funds for veteran causes. This group has raised over $216,000 to date. Tony is also a Fellow in the Society of American Military Engineers and a previous President of the Greater Kansas City Post. Also, Tony is an avid long distance runner and has completed the storied Boston Marathon 13 times (including 12 years straight) as well as the legendary Leadville 100 mile trail run (elevations to 12,600 feet) in addition to numerous other marathons/ultra marathons.
