Rowland Legg on the Bega School Girls and Jaidyn Leskie

Australian True Crime

In 1997, fourteen month old Jaidyn Leskie was left by his young mum Bilynda Williams, with her boyfriend Greg Domaszewicz while she went for a rare night out. She never saw her child again. That same year, two families awoke to discover their teenage daughters were missing after a routine camp out with their friends. They were by then, miles away, having been abducted by two troubled young men with no boundaries, and nothing to lose. The responsibility of finding justice for the families of all three, fell ultimately to Rowland Legg and his team of detectives. Fourteen month old Jaidyn Leskie disappeared in 1997 from his babysitter’s home. The babysitter, his mother’s boyfriend, said he left the little boy alone for around 40 minutes. While many didn’t believe him, there was evidence of a break in and other suspects to pursue. Would the police narrow down the person responsible and would a jury agree?Want more true crime content? Broken Boy: The Jaidyn Leskie Story

True Crime Brewery

There is no one more innocent than a 14 month old child, the age Jaidyn Leskie was when he disappeared.  Jaidyn was born in and lived his life in poverty and ignorance.  Some would say that his mother loved him and tried her best. Others would say she was a careless and neglectful drunk. Either way, the outcome is the same. Most of us love our kids.  We do our best to keep them well cared for and safe, regardless of our socioeconomic status or the stress life sends our way. Maybe this is why we feel justified in judging parents like Jaidyn’s mother, Bilynda. Not because she was young, unmarried, poor, or a heavy drinker, but because she failed to keep Jaidyn safe. Join us at the quiet end today for Broken Boy: The Jaidyn Leskie Story.  It’s a hard story to tell and a hard one to hear, but we’re coming to this story with empathy and an effort to understand a dark side of the human condition.

Jaidyn Leskie

Unresolved

The disappearance of a child would kick off one of Australia's most scandalous chapters. On June 14th, 1997, Greg Domaszewicz offered to babysit for his girlfriend, Bilynda Murphy. He drove off with her 14-month-old son Jaidyn that afternoon, promising to drop off the boy with a babysitter later in the evening. However, Jaidyn would never be seen by another living soul again. Whatever happened during that fateful day would lead to the disappearance of poor Jaidyn, whose body wouldn't be discovered until January of 1998...
