Parents of food allergic children often suffer from high levels of stress and anxiety. I invited Leah Robilotto, founder of The Food Allergy Institute, to discuss the emotional impact that food allergies have on parents and ways to manage this allergy-anxiety. During this conversation, we also discussed Leah's incredible work at The Food Allergy Institute and how she is helping families and educators gain greater peace of mind through personalized coaching. Episode 046: Discovering your Allertribe with Leah Robilotto of The Food Allergy Institute

The Living Your Best Vibe Podcast

In 2017, Leah Robilotto had a seven-year-old son with eight anaphylactic food allergies as well as an active five-year-old. Like many food allergy parents, she was stressed over how to balance work and typical family responsibilities, with the added challenge of trying to keep her son safe and included at school and social activities. What she was looking for did not exist. This was the start of the Food Allergy Institute. Leah’s mission is to support chronically ill and food-allergic individuals, their families, schools, communities, and workplaces, as well as to advocate for safe inclusion while reducing the stress and anxiety that can come with living with food allergies. She also helps people find their Allertribe as she puts it, and I am so honored to invite Leah into the Living Your Best Vibe tribe... so welcome to the show, Leah... The Real Life Show: Living with a Chronic Illness

Leah was like many food allergy parents stressed over how to balance work, normal family responsibilities and keeping her son safe and included at school and social activities. The support she was looking for did not exist. She left her marketing career behind and took her years of learning as a food allergy mom to become a food allergy expert. She went back to school and completed her Master’s in Child and Adolescent Psychology while conducting outreach programs for the Food Allergy Research & Education Organization. In short, she became the expert she needed. This episode gives first hand insight into caretaking, and becoming the support you need! Killer Food Allergies

Irreverent and bitter, Holly Bayardo takes us on a journey into the complex and confusing world of allergies offering insight for all of us, whether we are a little sneezy, or could die from ingesting a single sesame seed.  Holly’s raw, unfiltered, viewpoint is refreshing and much needed.  As the mom of a daughter with complex & terrifying food allergies, Holly is deep in the trenches of what seems to have become an outbreak of illness for this generation of children.  In her experience, just the word - ALLERGY - has become a lightning rod for controversy and confusion.  Why this curious spike?  With her “laugh so I don’t cry…”  approach, sprinkled with a fantastic line up of guests, Holly hopes her experience on the front lines with this epidemic will help answer that question and more.
