Bud Light Seltzer | Conor Mason: New Year, New Beer?

Authentic Avenue

Bud Light Seltzer | Conor Mason, Sr. Director 2021 is upon us, and that means: New Year, New...Beer? At least that's what our premiere guest would perhaps like to see. Conor Mason is the subject of today's show. At just 28 years of age, he's risen the ranks within Anheuser-Busch (check out my interview with the highest rank, Marcel Marcondes, at this link) to become Sr. Director over Bud Light Seltzer. Seltzer in general has been flying high over the past few years, and Conor now manages to drive it forward for the largest name in beer. So, how do you do that? How do you stay culturally relevant and fresh in an emerging category while marrying with a household name in an established one? You'll find out today in our 2021 debut with Conor Mason. FaceCulture: Giving You The People Behind The Music

Ever since their self-titled debut album back in 2015 we at FaceCulture had the pleasure to talk to English rock band Nothing But Thieves, and frontman Conor Mason in particular, on numerous occasions. Over this time, we've developed an understanding with each other, and Conor's openness and willingness to talk about anything ranging from when he suffered with depression to his musical thought process, has made for some very insightful and fascinating conversations. In this interview we spoke about their latest album Moral Panic, his path of self-discovery, polerization in society, writing songs just for himself, the uncertain future, and a lot more! We hope you guys enjoy these talks as much as we do!By: Martin KuiperSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/FaceCulture)

Conor Mason (Nothing But Thieves)

Humans of Music

Since forming in 2012, Nothing But Thieves have become one of England's biggest musical exports, touring the world, playing the late-night TV talk show circuit in America and hitting the Top 10 in the UK.   But it’s not all been smooth sailing. As the band toured the US off the back of their 2015 debut album, frontman Conor Mason suffered a breakdown, unsettled by the divorce of his parents, the rigours of the road and a mind that he says would not slow down. As he explains in this interview he’s since learned to tame those impulses, and has found happiness through concentrating on mindfulness. He also talks about the early days of the band, why they struggled to be accepted, and his formative years singing at school.

FaceCulture: Giving You The People Behind The Music

Over the years we have been lucky enough to have spoken to the guys from Nothing But Thieves, and vocalist Conor Mason in particular, on a number occasions. This particular interview is a short one, about 12 minutes, in which we catch up with Mason and reflect with him on the band's second album Broken Machine (2017) and how he is in a much better place after having gone through struggles with exhaustion and depression in years past. Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/FaceCulture)
