Mountain Bike Radio
June 26, 2020 Todd Sadow of Epic Rides Show Page ABOUT THE EPISODE Todd Sadow has spent the better part of his life dedicated to having a great time on a bike. From the humble beginnings of a 24 hour party in the Arizona desert, to a nationwide series, he’s always maintained a down-to-earth attitude. That’s why I like having him on Mountain Bike Radio. In this episode, we chat about the current world of race directing, what Epic Rides is up to, and more. ABOUT EPIC RIDES: “Epic Rides is a passionate group of individuals who care about sharing the outdoors from the saddle of a bike. We want as many people to ride bikes in this world as possible. Whether it’s to go to the store, to drop the kids at school, or to pursue fresh air and adventure trailside, we know a bike ride (no matter how long) does wonders for the soul. Our events are a platform for personal achievement, camaraderie, challenge and life driving motivation (and satisfaction). Maybe even more notably, they are designed solely to deliver happiness to all involved while spreading the gospel of mountain biking.” ----------- RELATED SHOW NOTES Epic Rides – https://epicrides.com/ Epic Rides on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/epicrides/ Epic Rides on Twitter – https://twitter.com/EpicRides Epic Rides on Strava – https://www.strava.com/clubs/epic-rides-314302 Epic Rides on YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWnrMjW1McZ3xsCROWgMylQ Epic Rides on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/epicrides/#

Dirt Components – https://www.dirtcomponents.com/ Dirt Components on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/dirtcomponents Dirt Components on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/dirtcomponents/ ---------- ABOUT DIRT FEST Maurice and Elaine Tierney started Dirt Rag in 1989, creating a magazine that provided an inclusive forum where readers shared their stoke for the riding, culture, and lifestyle of mountain biking. After having a great time at the legendary Jim Thorpe Mountain Bike Weekend, the pair decided that Dirt Rag was in a position to translate the magazine’s in-print stoke to an in-person “gathering of the tribe.” The first edition of Dirt Fest took place in 1991 at Camp Soles, a YMCA youth camp east of Pittsburgh. The original event was decidedly chill. There was no vendor expo bristling with the bleeding edge of bicycle technology. Demo rides amounted to swapping bikes with a newfound friend. There was a lake, a bonfire, and a bicycle polo field. Nighttime entertainment consisted of an attendee strumming a guitar at the group bonfire—a far cry from The Earthtones jamming for a circus tent full of partying mountain bikers.
