Jane Toppan: A Poisoned Mind

The Spookies Podcast

JANE TOPPAN was a Victorian-Era Nurse with a dark secret: She was a sexual psychopath and serial killer. In part 2, we take a long, hard look into the abyss. Nurse Toppan’s sadism and cruelty reaches new heights (or depths) of depravity. Jane’s increasingly erratic behavior and inability to control her homicidal impulses ultimately dooms her to a fate worse than death. Michael and Stephanie debate the roots of evil. Was Jane born bad or molded into a monster by a callous and indifferent society? Are we all capable of evil under certain circumstances? Part 2 of 2.

43. Hunter Moore & Jane Toppan

Ghastly Women

Hunter Moore is an American convicted criminal from Sacramento, California. Rolling Stone called him "the most hated man on the Internet.” He created the revenge porn website Is Anyone Up? which allowed users to post sexually explicit photos of people online without their consent, often accompanied by personal information such as their names and addresses.Jane Toppan born Honora Kelley, was an American serial killer, nicknamed "Jolly Jane". Toppan is quoted as saying that her ambition was "to have killed more people—helpless people—than any other man or woman who ever lived"Lily and Esther, flawed women and good friends, bring to light the ‘other’ side of the so called “weaker sex” and put some truly horrible women up with the big bad boys. Until we have women who are just as horrifying as some men, we will never get the respect/fear we deserve.Lily Phillips https://twitter.com/lily_comedyEsther Manito https://twitter.com/esther_manitoA Turtle Canyon Comedy productionhttp://www.turtlecanyoncomedy.comOther Turtle Canyon podcastsLast Night Out - https://www.podfollow.com/1626986781Up Your Footfall - https://www.podfollow.com/1559039647Secret Artists with Annie McGrath - https://www.podfollow.com/1484654152Congrats on the new... - https://www.podfollow.com/1546243423If You're Happy, Do You Know It? - https://podfollow.com/1438256386/linksRandom Conversations About Movies - https://podfollow.com/1624004755Positive Soup! - https://podfollow.com/1618425085

"Jolly" Jane Toppan- The Killer Nurse

Horrific Heartland

If you're afraid of the doctor's office or hospitals....this episode will validate that fear! Jolly Jane Toppan was known by doctors as the fun, loving nurse, but she had a darker side. Jolly Jane loved to poison elderly patients and acquaintances and watching them die. Yes, she actually would climb into bed or hold her victim and watch their life end. Between 1895 and 1901 in Massachusetts, she murdered 31 patients and probably many, many more. Episode 53: Jolly Jane Toppan's Poisoning Murders; A Cape Codder in New York City; Early 80's PC Games; Roanoke Island NC(1-20-2022)

In My Footsteps Podcast

Episode 53 begins with true crime.  It delves into the sinister poisoning murders of Nurse Jane Toppan.  At the turn of the 20th century this trusted figure betrayed that trust in a string of murders on and off Cape Cod.  How did it all go down?It is safe to say that Cape Cod and New York City are fairly different.  How much of a culture shock was it to visit the Big Apple as a 13-year old on a field trip?  Continuing the love letter to the Outer Banks this week's Road Trip takes us to Roanoke Island, North Carolina.  It was here that the first English settlement in America was tried and ultimately failed.  However what truly became of the Lost Colony of Roanoke? We go way back to what 1980's kids got to play in school as far as early educational computer games.  Sure everyone remembers The Oregon Trail and Where In the World Is Carmen Sandiego?  There were many more classic titles that will be featured on this week's Top 5.There is a new This Week In History and Time Capsule featuring the birth of The Greatest, Muhammad Ali.Be sure to watch for my livestreams called Without A Map Friday's at 8pm on Instagram which serve as a sort of postgame show for the podcast.
