1 & 2 Thessalonians Week 1 with Whitney Capps

She Reads Truth Podcast

Join us as we dive into 1 Thessalonians as Raechel and Amanda study the book’s early chapters with speaker, author, and teacher Whitney Capps. Together they discuss Paul’s encouraging and challenging words to a young community of believers who faced opposition as they lived in anticipation of the Lord’s return. As we also wait for Jesus’s second coming, the apostle’s message of perseverance motivates us to continue living out the gospel with one another, faithfully serving the Lord with love and enduring hope. Read with Us: This episode corresponds to Week 1 of the She Reads Truth 1 & 2 Thessalonians reading plan found on the She Reads Truth app and SheReadsTruth.com. Shop the Title collection at ShopSheReadsTruth.com. Show notes can be found at shereadstruth.com/podcast/1-2-thessalonians-week-1-with-whitney-capps

Everyday Theology: End Times with Whitney Capps

Everyday Theology + Questions Kids Ask

This is our last week walking through the key doctrines of the Christian faith as we cover the end times. We discuss why Revelation is one of Whitney’s favorite books of the Bible and how you can better learn to see the gospel clearly in how God says that the world as we have experienced it will end. Today’s guest is Whitney Capps. Whitney is a national Proverbs 31 speaker and the author of Sick of Me and also We Over Me, a Bible study based on the letters to the churches in the beginning of Revelation. She and her husband Chad have for boys and live just outside Atlanta, Georgia. Whitney created a fabulous group where she provides theological training called Simple Seminary that I absolutely love, so make sure to check that out!

Happy Hour #272: Whitney Capps

The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey

My guest for The Happy Hour # 272 is Whitney Capps. Whitney is a speaker, author, wife, Mom and friend. Her favorite assignment is wife to Chad, and mom to Cooper, Dylan, Ryder and Tate. Her book, Sick of Me, and her bible study curriculum, We Over Me were released in early 2019. Additionally, Whitney is the founder of Simple Seminary and speaks with Proverbs 31 Ministries. Alright you guys, get ready to be fired up and excited after the show today, and maybe grab a pen and notebook too because Whitney shares so many words of wisdom! Whitney and I dive right in and talk about finding and using your spiritual gifts, whether that's for 4 people or 4,000. We discuss the often overlooked spiritual discipline of silence and solitude and listening for the Holy Spirit. I loved our discussion on what biblical community is supposed to be. "The end game is to help me live and look and love like Jesus" - yes, friend, yes! We also chat about how self-help can leave us feeling frustrated instead of sanctified and bearing fruit. At the end of the show we get to hear more about Simple Seminary, which I am so excited about! Go check it out and The Happy Hour Listeners get early access to the Winter 2020 class, plus a bonus teaching, and Christmas lock screen for your phone! 5LQ Episode 345: Whitney Capps

5 Leadership Questions Podcast on Church Leadership with Todd Adkins and Chandler Vannoy

In this episode of the 5 Leadership Questions podcast, Todd Adkins and Daniel Im are joined by Whitney Capps, author of Sick of Me and speaker for Proverbs 31 Ministries. During their conversation, they discuss the importance of listening to God's Word for it's truth and discerning wise decisions in ministry.BEST QUOTES"I wrote it as an act of obedience, not fully convinced that anybody would read it.""It was really a book for me walking through the process and realization - a painful one - that I had traded sanctification for self-help.""To some extent I thought sanctification was about doing better and missed that the call is actually for us to be better.""One of my goals for 2019 is to read more from people who are not my contemporaries.""There is no excuse for a person breathing millennial air to not know and understand God's Word.""God's Word is so pregnant that He can do a lot with a little.""There is something about appreciating what it is to read God's Word for its truth rather than my personal application.""There is embracing who I am and then there is embracing God's call on my life.""There is a level of discernment of 'who do I trust to help me make those good and wise decisions?'""The most important lesson we hope you learn from us doing ministry is that you are not the center of our world.""I don't think it is possible to miss God's call on your life if the daily prayer of your life is, "I'll say yes to today.'"RECOMMENDED RESOURCESLifeway Leadership Podcast NetworkWhitneyCapps.comBible Study: We Over Me Sick of Me: From Transparency to Transformation by Whitney CappsProverbs 31 MinistriesAugustine's Confessions by St. AugustineFirst 5 AppWarren Wiersbe Be SeriesAsk Me Anything Podcast with J.D.
