Brian McClintic is a Master Sommelier who was one of the subjects of the documentary SOMM (find it on Netflix). In this interview, recorded at the International Pinot Noir Celebration in McMinnville, Oregon, Brian and I discuss the art & science of wine tasting, the economics of the wine world, and his newest project, Viticole - an online retail wine distribution company that finds unknown wine producers creating fantastic wines at a fraction of what they will cost in the future. We talk about his favorite vintages, some specific pairing recommendations, how he is building Viticole, and of course - how he focuses.
