We recap the opening weekend of college lacrosse and are joined by Cameron Herbert, the Bellarmine midfielder who streamed the game from his phone so that lacrosse fans could actually watch the first game of the year. We then give our picks for the upcoming slate of games this weekend and make our “1 hour open bar” bet official. (30:21) One of the top goalies in all of lacrosse, Dillon Ward, joins the show this week to discuss all things Canada. Wardo gets into his time at the Hill Academy (he says “Grade 11” like five times, don’t miss it), being a Bellarmine legend, and his experiences in both the indoor and outdoor professional leagues. We discuss a few memorable post games and wrap up with some Canada vs USA discussion. Follow Dillon on Instagram and Twitter @dillward37. This episode is presented by Red Truck Beef Jerky. On this week's episode of Lacrosse Classified, after Jake gets a pass from his girlfriend to head down to Vegas this coming weekend, we turn our focus of the show onto the Dive In to Sin City game coming up this weekend between the San Diego Seals and Colorado Mammoth which both Evan and Jake will be in attendance for. First up, we have the captain of the San Diego Seals and PLL Chaos, Brodie Merrill. Brodie is now 38 years old but you wouldn't be able to tell it from the way he continues to excel at the game. He is also in the opinion of this show the greatest long pole of all time, having the LSM player of the year award in the PLL named after him, even while he is still an active player. We talk about the Seals early struggles, an unusual goaltending situation in the Seals last game, his work at the Hill Academy and reflect back on perhaps the game that meant the most to him, the 2006 ILF World Championship final. Next up is the guy who is certainly the best goaltender overall in both disciplines, Dillon Ward of the Colorado Mammoth and Denver Outlaws. We talk about the Mammoth's recent ups and downs, how the #GoalieUnion is sparkling so far this year and everyone having fun with the new trending hashtag, #TradeWard. As always we have another round of Stampede Tack's #WhoYaGott where Evan maintains a 1 goal lead over Jake, news and notes and in G Wilson Construction's Under Review, we explain the illegal equipment penalty called on Tyler Digby of the New York Riptide in their game against the Philadelphia Wings last week.
