Creating The Rock 'N' Roll Archaeology Project with Christian Swain

The Creationists

This is the final episode of Season Three of The Creationists and since this season featured a series of music related interviews, I thought it only appropriate to include an interview with Christian Swain who, along with his longtime friend Richard Evans created The Rock and Roll Archeology Project, a podcast that is an in-depth look at rock and roll as well as the culture and technology that influenced it from 1945 to 1995. My conversation with Christian touches a bunch of different areas including the influence of black music on rock and roll, the creation of Pantheon, his podcast network of almost 70 music related shows as well as his views on the use of pre-recorded music in podcasts. But everything Christian and his partners have created starts with the first episode of The Rock and Roll Archeology Project which launched in 2015.If you have even the slightest interest in the history of music, culture and technology and how they collided in the 20th century, I can't recommend the Rock and Roll Archaeology podcast enough but do yourself a favour and start at episode one. You can find this and all of the other Pantheon shows wherever you listen to podcasts or at pantheonpodcasts.com.Read the full transcript at imstevewaxman.comPlease follow The Creationists podcast on Facebook and Instagram.  You can reach out to us at TheCreationistspodcast@gmail.comThe Creationists is mastered in post production by Paul Farrant.

We're an American Band with Christian Swain

Memories With A Beat

"It was the encore song. We had finished out set.  We were the last band. And it was the last day of the festival...and uh, as we began the second verse I heard what I thought were fire crackers..." Christian told me in this interview about the song he and his band were playing when a gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. 6:46 "We're an American Band": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwsgznR_T-g Christian Swain's Social: (FB) @Christian.Swain & Twitter: @Swain_Christian Gilroy Garlic Festival Shooting Interview: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fabc7news.com%2Fgilroy-garlic-festival-shooting-tinman-band-ca%2F5426550%2F%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR2g1KeesfEOgfvWuO2VlsN15-VMYXxeF-zpl_kmyu3yH_AIThZCmpSoq54&h=AT0Fm7_a9KLuTuK0QTyNM6U5CiXPg8Mey10SnwOdGjDMGpJ7wodB16UhiAIw706DVtx1xZhCiQopMPgATG2bb1WohhKe2nTSVBN0gy59wNRPlzFTPF1hWy7MI_uD9KsECakWOqjBKVB3 Christian's Podcasts: "Rock N Roll Archaeology" https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/rock-n-roll-archaeology/id1448931658 "Deeper Digs in Rock" https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/deeper-digs/id1450669102 Podcast Network "Pantheon" (FB) https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpantheonpodcasts.com%2F%3Ffbclid%3DIwAR2AE0tPwAJbtrTQJ4bfcbPH8O3hntzKSeFyCt9k7EEuR6S4pmxowfQ7I3Y&h=AT0pvtPeheULzYmHwABatxzEvSuk2jJmHgKTnPdA5tJ5aJS-BpmR3rT9Mj48TtncCZjOedzDl2wDUYS-0pcSBDHfBW51k3wGAb8QYG8cjNHhkacZ8Hhf4GigY5K_oEqRIXb4a82RagHG Podcast Produced by: VirtuallyYou! EP 69: Christian Swain of Rock N Roll Archaeology

Muses

This week Chanty and Lynx chat with Christian Swain, founder, host and producer over at Rock N Roll Archaeology! We first met when both of our shows were featured on the Elvis episode of the CBC Podcast Playlist. What is Rock N Roll Archaeology? They’re a group (a symphony!) of podcasts all about rock n roll “digging into music, culture and technology”. Some of their shows include Rock N Roll Archaeology, Reel Rock, Vinyl Snob and Rock N Roll Librarian. Before we get into each of the shows and how Rock N Roll Archaeology came to be, we ask Christian about his musical beginnings. We ask which posters he had up on his wall as a child, talk about his band Tin Man, discuss his involvement in “Little Kids Rock” as well as the importance of music in schools and of course the FUTURE of Rock N Roll Archaeology! You can find all their information over at www.rocknrollarchaeology.com You can find us on Twitter @chantyandlynx & on Instagram & Facebook @musesandstuffpodcast. Don’t forget to Rate, Review & Subscribe to our podcast on iTunes!

The Best of Podcasters | Christian Swain

Podcasting: The Ultimate Self-Coaching Tool

Rock N Roll HistoryChristian Swain brings you rock n roll history. What was once a germ of an idea, is now a 6 podcast network. The Rock N Roll Archaeology Project brings you two generations of history, 50 years, from 1945-1995. It was a cultural phenomena in those times, but Rock starts to wane in 1995, and stops being the way it was before. Rock N Roll was a part of the cultural change at the time. The Rock N Roll Archaeology Project is hosted by Christian and is a highly produced show. He looks at Rock in the eye as a historian. This is a merging of Christian's passions - Rock and Podcasts. It is something that he should have started a long time ago.Podcasters are Artists, Christian agrees. It's from the production and the 'theater of the mind'.Christian also provides some very good advice on starting a Podcast Network.
