Episode #26: Drug Addict to Yogi Entrepreneur with Danni Pomplun
Yoga Teacher Evolution
"Be it. Trust it." Arguably one of the most inspiring stories I've heard in a long time, Senior Yoga Teacher, Danny Pomplun, shares his journey where he went from drug addict to a well-respected yoga teacher. Growing up in East LA back in the day, and with a challenging child-hood, pushed Danni to leave home at the age of 16 years old and live on his own. Turning to drugs, sex work, and any means to help him survive, Danni has experienced life in a way that many of us have never seen, or imagined. Through a series of events, Danni was able to pull himself out of those toxic environments and grow into an inspiration for us all. - - - Listen to this 45-minute episode where Paul interviews Danni on his life story that will inspire your day! From scrubbing toilets to leading trainings all over the world, Danni shares more than just his story, but his revelations throughout his life which is better than any self-help book you could pick up! - - - If you liked this episode (or any others), and you haven't given us some love, then here's what you can do: If you listen on Spotify, give us a follow and like! On this episode of Balance Your Life, I am chatting with Danni Pomplun. Danni is a yoga teacher, yoga teacher trainer, international retreat leader, and host of the Yogi Misfits Sessions. On this episode we discuss his addictions to drugs, losing a partner and dealing with the grief of it, having a failed suicide attempt, being given the ultimatum of going to yoga (which changed and saved his life), and more!
Danni Pomplun turned to yoga when there was nothing left. Just when he needed it most, yoga met him where he was — not judging him but demanding his attention. Now as a teacher, Danni prioritizes fun, function, and authenticity, and he hopes to lead students to a greater appreciation not only for what the body is capable of but also for how their practice can support them at even the most trying times. In this episode, you'll hear from Danni on: Recovering from addiction and a suicide attempt through the acceptance of a yoga community Why contrary to popular opinion, yoga *is* about the destination, not just the journey A short and powerful journaling routine you can implement to get connected to mind, body, and spirit Danni's four pillars of interacting in the world as a teacher and human, and a few ways you can go deeper with him from near or far Announcements: Celebrate my one-year Veganniversary with yoga, plant-based pizza and ice cream, and prizes — all benefiting Woodstock Farm Sanctuary: henrywins.com/events Join me for upcoming workshops in NYC, Texas, and Mexico: henrywins.com/events Links from this episode: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson — Grab a copy of Danni's recommended book Get in touch with Danni: DanniPomplun.com — Check out Danni's event and teacher training schedule, as well as his blog and podcast Yogi Misfit Sessions — Subscribe to Danni's podcast Follow @dannipomplun on Instagram
