258-Advocacy, Flexibility, and Mental Health: Supporting Today’s SLP Grad Students with Sam Walker MS CCC-SLP, TSSLD
Swallow Your Pride Podcast
When you think back on your grad school experience, does it stir up happiness and joy or anxiety and stress? Most SLPs will lean towards the latter, but does it have to be that way? It’s highly competitive to get into grad school and the competition and quest for perfection doesn’t end with an acceptance letter. The pressure felt by grad students is intense and often anxiety-inducing. (Anyone else still have dreams about forgetting to turn in an assignment?) In this episode of SYP, I have a conversation with Sam Walker, MS, CCC-SLP, TSSLD about her experience in working with grad students through her programs, SLP Test Prep, SLP Grad Club, and SLP Grad Guide. Sam shares heartbreaking and triumphant stories of today's grad students and the struggles they face along with her own experience as a student and SLP. She is a fierce advocate for change in the grad school experience and mental health support for our SLP students. We hope to change this culture to a more welcoming environment for our future colleagues. Haven’t left a review yet? EP209 | Interviewing a Real Life Vigilante (w/ Sam Walker)
In Love with the Process Podcast
If you listen to The American Vigilante Podcast you will hear host Sam Walker explained to her audience that she isn't quite sure if the man she interviewing is telling the truth. Her subject is KC, a man who claims to be a real-life vigilante, and over the course of the series, he recalls his wild and often graphic tales of rescuing kidnapped children and bringing vengeance to their families. The tales may seem far-fetched, but his attention to detail and vivid recollections have created an aggressively polarized podcast fan base. ILWP host Mike Pecci is a massive fan of the show, and he uses this interview to learn more about Sam and the series of life events that lead her to meeting either one of the most dangerous men in America, or the world's best storyteller.---------------------------------►American Vigilante Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/american-vigilante/id1583938816►Sam's IG: https://www.instagram.com/samwalkerradio/►Mike Pecci's IG: instagram.com/mikepecci►ILWP's IG: instagram.com/inlovewiththeprocesspod------------->Featuring Music by:►Night Rider 87►Code Elektro►Turbo Knight------------------The Episode is Sponsored by► IndiPro: Indipro.com►BearRepublic: bearrepublic.com/ Discount code is PROCESS15►Puget Systems: puget.systems/go/ILWTP►Jambox www.jambox.io► FujiFilm: fujifilm-x.com/ www.facebook.com/FujifilmXUS/ twitter.com/FujifilmX_US www.instagram.com/fujifilmx_us/ www.youtube.com/c/FujifilmUSACameras
