Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession- to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:15–23 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” Ephesians 2:8–10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God‘s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.“ Ephesians 2:13 “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.“ Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

And that good is being able to tell people how God got us through, how God picked us up, and how God turned those dark chapters into something good." ~ Sharon Jaynes #MyStrengthIsMyStory #CreateYourNow #SharonJaynes Quotes and statements within the interview: "I applaud you for starting with that question, because it just tells me that you are looking at life through the right lens; the lens of joy and gratitude so we can have a better story." "Ministering to people face-to-face brings me great joy." "I grew up when my mom would say 'What's wrong with you?', when I was acting like a normal kid. I remember thinking, 'I don't know, but there's something wrong with me.'" "He [God] turns it into our greatest strengths when we give our weaknesses to Him." "So growing up, it was pretty difficult. It was not a good story BUT that story didn't stay that way." "I began to see that there was a big difference between what we had and what they had because we had a religion in our life. They had a relationship with Jesus Christ. And that made all the difference." "Sometimes we can be so involved in other people's stories. God needs to get us out of the way." "It's hard to run the great race of life when you got that burden that you're carrying around." "We set ourselves free when we choose to forgive." "It's okay to go back and look at your past to see why you are the way you are, but it's not an excuse to stay that way." "And I had this little thought from God, 'Would you rather have people think well of you or well of Me?' And I said, Oh Lord, I want people to think well of You." "I've got to stop saying 'Why me?' and start saying 'What now?'" "God is always working behind the scenes." "He is working in the meanwhile even though we don't see it, even though we feel like He's standing in the corner watching it occur. In the long run, it will help us if we let Him." "And then when you turn around and use what you've gone through for good, you are writing a better story." "We can have a better story when we look through the right lens." What has your story gifted you? "I feel like that everything I've gone through that that's the good in it — that it helps me to help someone else. For that, it's just worth it to just know that." Your Mistakes Don’t Define You: Sharon Jaynes & Christine Soule

Jesus Calling: Stories of Faith

The best news we could ever receive is that in the middle of our most broken, painful moments, there is Someone who will reach out to us—no matter what we’ve done, who we’ve hurt, or the mistakes that we’ve made. God does not care what you look like, or the road that you’ve traveled—all He cares for is your heart and where you’re headed. Sharon Jaynes is an international conference speaker and author. Time and time again, Sharon has seen the power of forgiveness in her life, and has seen how your worst, most heartbreaking moments can be the springboard for positive change. Christine Soule grew up in a broken home, struggled with drug addiction, was a victim of sex trafficking, and had nowhere to turn. Eventually, Christine found God and she did a 180 on her lifestyle—boldly making different life choices, relying on nothing but the goodness of God to heal her broken soul and spirit. Christine is now the the founder and CEO of Providence Heights, a nonprofit organization that was created to house women and children in need, as well as providing counseling, jobs, and education.  Links, Products, and Resources Mentioned: Jesus Calling Podcast Jesus Calling Jesus Listens Past interview: Zach Williams Upcoming interview: Holly Singletary Sharon Jaynes When You Don’t Like Your Story Proverbs 31 Ministries Girlfriends in God, Inc. sharonjaynes.com Christine Soule Providence Heights Benny Hinn Broken and Beautiful Interview Quotes: “I always felt as a little girl that I wasn't good enough, I wasn't smart enough, I wasn't pretty enough. I wasn't a good enough daughter. And if I could be, then maybe my parents wouldn't be so angry and fight all the time.” - Sharon Jaynes “I said, ‘Dad, none of us can be good enough. If we could be good enough, then Jesus wouldn't have had to die on the cross.’ But he could not understand that kind of grace for a man like him.” - Sharon Jaynes “I want to encourage you that getting from that place to being able to tell your story of redemption is a process.” - Sharon Jaynes “We have to stop and think, Who is it that I am not forgiving? Because as long as we have unforgiveness in our heart, we will get stuck in a bad chapter in our story. So the first step is deciding you want to get well, the second step is to forgive those people who have hurt you.” - Sharon Jaynes “If someone steps in that church and they look a little different than you, they're seeking God. They need a savior and you know what? Grab a hold of them because they have made the scariest, most bold step, probably up to that point in their life. So love them. It's a huge deal to let them know that they matter.” - Christine Soule “Don't expect people to change overnight, just one step at a time so that they can really allow God to cultivate them. It's not our job just to fix them. It's God's job to cultivate them.” - Christine Soule “Just know friends, that He is for you. Even in the midst of difficult circumstances, He's for you. He's with you. He loves and adores you, and allow that to turn your life into something truly beautiful.” - Christine Soule ___ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel: Audio Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PrbuwH Video Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PsmEkJ What’s Good? 054: When You Don’t Like Your Story with Sharon Jaynes

The Living Room with Joanna Weaver

“Your story does not disqualify you!"Are you still clinging tightly to the broken pieces and shattered dreams in your life? There is good news, my friend! In this episode, Sharon Jaynes, shares from her newest book, "When You Don't Like Your Story: What If Your Worst Chapters Could Become Your Greatest Victories?" about the redemptive power of God. Sharon demonstrates how God can use the parts of our stories that we wish were erased to grow us and reveal Himself to us and the world around us. While we can never change the past, with God we can always redeem it!If you are still carrying the hurt of your past, this word is for you. The issues that have bound and held you for far too long are going to be broken as you release them into God's hands. Today is your day of deliverance!{ USE PLAYER BAR @ TOP OF PAGE to listen to show, subscribe and share }Important Takeaways from Show Your story does not disqualify you The Bible is full of personal stories of redemption Like Rahab, God wants to turn our stories around and use them for good God doesn't comfort us just to make us comfortable, but so that we can comfort others (2 Corinthians 1:4)  Sharing our stories is a part of overcoming the enemy in our lives (Revelations 12:11) It is in the hard parts of our story that God meets us most Rather than say "why me?" we can ask God "what now?" We have to let go of the broken pieces we cling to and allow God to make something beautiful with it Healing starts with the decision that you want to be free and made well When we've embraced lies as our identity we have to renew our minds through the Word to tell a new story We often think it is easier to stay in disfunction than to be healed and move into the unknown When we refuse to believe what God says about ourselves over our own thoughts we bind and lock ourselves up We have to keep our story centered on Jesus and His power to redeem When we offer the difficult and weak places in our story to Jesus, He can use it in powerful ways Sometimes God will not talk to you about your future until you deal with your past The power of our past is broken when we open up and share our storiesSTEPS TO HEALING:  Choose healing - decide that you want to move beyond the hurt and pain toward healing Leave the pain place - forgive those who have hurt you Leave the shame place - receive God's forgiveness and forgive yourself Tell your storyAnd we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.Romans 8:28Links from ShowNEW BOOK: When You Don't Like Your Story: What If Your Worst Chapters Could Become Your Greatest Victories?Praying Wives Club [Disclosure: I make a small commission from affiliate links used in this post.] Connect with Sharon JaynesWebsite | Facebook | Instagram | TwitterConnect with Joanna Facebook | Pinterest | Instagram | Twitter Subscribe & Get a Bible Reading Journal! You can get your free "2021 Word of God Speak” Journal by signing up in the form below.
