The Benefit Broadcast
In this episode we explore coming out and queer identity with Ryan Lanji and Charlie Craggs. Ryan Lanji is an art and fashion curator, winner of NETFLIX’S reality series ‘The Big Flower Fight’ and host of the upcoming BBC THREE series ’The Big Proud Party Agency'. Charlie Craggs is a broadcaster, author and activist. Her book ‘To My Trans Sisters’ was published in 2017, she is the host of BBC’s Transitioning Teens and the founder of Nail Transphobia which she has been running for almost 10 years. She is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the LGBTQIA+ community and regularly appears on TV and radio. Charlie and Ryan, who are friends in their own right, have a frank and honest conversation of their coming out (or rather coming ‘in’) stories, dish out advice for other young LGBTQIA+ folk who want to find their community, and dismantle tired arguments levelled against trans people by the media. As well as being informative and incredibly moving, expect lots of laughs along the way in this episode. The views and opinions expressed are those of our guests. They do not reflect all views and beliefs, nor do they necessarily reflect or represent the official policy of Benefit Cosmetics. This episode contains references to transphobic abuse and suicide which some may find triggering. Ep11. Charlie Craggs - Extremely Iconic Icons
The Bosom Podcast
We are back for Season 2! I am not really sure what justifies having a Season 2, but after 10 eps and a big summer break that I thought it could be time. I am coming back with guest of all guests - activist and author Charlie Craggs. Charlie is the founder of Nail Transphobia, an organisation that seeks to educate people on trans issues and create new allies while giving manicures. We spoke about challenging perceptions of victimhood, the role of incredibly iconic icons, and the importance of remembering and memorialising trans figures who otherwise might not be remembered by the books. Charlie is hilarious and iconic herself, as well as being so thoughtful and passionate about creating change. I loved speaking to her, and I hope you love listening to.Once again a big ol thanks to Ally and Heli Shilson for their stunning tunes, and to Sophie Kamlish for her artwork! We are now on Spotify too! S2E2 - Charlie Craggs, 'Activist and Influencer'
You Alright Babes?
Charlie Craggs is a queer icon and we were so pumped to welcome her into the studio for probably the longest chat we've ever had (sorry studio team, we definitely over-ran...) We talked about changes in Charlie's career during lockdown, what it was like filming her new BBC3 documentary ('DIY Trans Teens'), authenticity on social media, being a non-voluntary vegan, Kelly Rowland, America's Next Top Model and honestly, everything in-between. It was GREAT.
