Ep. 8 - Stay by Lisa Loeb: The Woman Relationship Theme Song?
Having A Lyrical Breakdown
We eat candy bars while Joey "runs the trivia" and Tressa is still sucking at her research. "Stay" is a personally written song about relationships and what men say women "only hear what they want to." Tressa is also seeking out a new best friend and invites the listener to the party.
How Did We Get Weird with Vanessa Bayer and Jonah Bayer
In this episode the Bayers welcome nineties icon and Grammy Award-winning musician Lisa Loeb! We talk (so all the time) about landline phone etiquette from growing up including prank calls and Vanessa's love for calling the numbers on catalogs with a pretend accent. We also get into Lilith Fair and guitar shredding and when Lisa toured with Sarah McLachlan. And don't worry, not only do we talk about Lisa's famous cat eyeglasses and her current line of glasses, but Vanessa does a deep dive into the Betsey Johnson dress Lisa wore in the "Stay" video. Dreams! You've got to listen to this episode even if you only hear what you want to!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Singer/Songwriter/Neighbor Lisa Loeb comes by with a gentle complaint: Apparently somebody’s been referring to her as our “opening act.” But soon she warms up (TO us, not for us!). We talk about artists that have been semi-ruined for us by their fan bases, dissect “Steppin’ Stone,” and then visit Brian’s House of Wax for the anniversary of U2’s “The Joshua Tree.”Want to hear all the music we talk about?
