053 Personality Based Selling With Andi Wickman

The Big Movement Podcast

Andi Wickman is a Personality Based Marketing strategist who helps business owners go from unknown to influential by leveraging their unique personality. She helps them stand out & works with them to create & target a message that will reach & resonate.Andi initially invested 15 years into a corporate career in the finance industry. Her primary reason for staying in the industry for so long was living in San Francisco. The turning moment came one day while at the train station when a homeless individual called her a corporate slave. Typically most people ignore what the individual said, but this struck a chord with Andi. It helped her realize that she was only sticking with her career to maintain her current lifestyle. After breaking free of the career she started an olive oil brokerage company, then proceeded to have a 2nd child. During this time, she reinvented herself and transitioned from the olive oil industry into being a certified life coach and ultimately a business coach. When marketing your business it is vital for people to get to know who you are, not simply what you do. One of the best ways you can achieve this is by telling your story, why you are in business. This type of story creates a bond of trust that helps in the decision making process. Sometimes it can be hard for a business owner to begin telling their story. A great way to do this is by modeling. Modeling means that you are using someone else's story, business etc as a frame of reference to build yours. Think of modeling as a blueprint. You want to use a blueprint that is successful in business, but ultimately you must make it your own to stand out in the market. The more you know about your potential clients and customers the better, as this makes a dramatic difference in the results generated. You will want to know things such as what keeps them up at night, why did they start their business, what stresses do they have currently, etc.As for finding your ideal clients, a great place to do so are Facebook Groups. Become extremely active in 3-4 groups. You want to be helpful to people in the groups, show up in them 3-4 times a day. It is important that you look for groups with lots of engagement, instead of groups that are simply full of people posting what they are selling constantly. Additionally, you will want to look for groups that have a positive vibe in them, as there are some groups that are full of negativity. The One Thing that people should do to craft their story is to use the following exercise. Pretend that it's your funeral. What are people saying about you? What is the legacy you are leaving behind? What words are spoken about you over drinks? What are people saying about you now that you can no longer hear? What are the stories told as the night unfolds? This exercise helps to put things into perspective as to what we should be doing consistently to grow our brands in the right way.To learn more about Andi Wickman visit:http://www.andiwickman.com
